Bridge Park Hotel

AVIOD, HONESTLY DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Stayed here as we went to see Coldplay at Wembley. Only good points: Location Price Was going to take pictures but honestly just never want to remind myself of what we stayed in. Just pay the extra £100- £150 and stay at holiday inn/ premier inn/ travel lodge. Just any other hotel really! The entrance was nice and the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful but very slow. Check-in was stated to be from 2pm. We arrived at around 2:30pm. We didn’t get into our room till around 3pm as if took ages to check in and when we finally did check in our room wasn’t ready for another 10/15mins. We were walking up to the room and got a little lost, a gentleman did help us to our room however, like I said the staff are friendly, just very slow at the front desk. Now for the worst part. Our room was absolutely dreadful. Filthy, marks all over the walls. Awful carpet that was dirty, I did not feel safe/clean to just walk about in socks. Someone had used the soap holder near the sink as an ash tray. There was a kettle and cups to make yourself a drink with but didn’t use them as was so traumatised. The door to the balcony did lock but the window didn’t so didn’t feel very safe at all. There was a bottle of beer left on the balcony from the previous occupants, it also absolutely reeked of urine on the balcony. I assume which ever lovely person most likely male couldn’t be bothered to get up and use the communal toilets. The TV was basically hanging off the wall. The only good thing about the room was the bed/bedding was clean and it was somewhat comfy. Now for the other worst part. The communal toilets and showers. I don’t mind communal toilets and showers so long as they are clean, I have used them before when caravaning, when I was a child. The ones at this hotel had honestly never seen bleach, EVER. Mold everywhere, stank so bad. In the sink someone with a thick beard had a shave and left their hair all over the sink and stuck in the plug hole. They also left their dirty razor just lying there. Absolutely disgusting. It said on the toilet door that the communal toilets where cleaned hourly, this is an absolute lie. I wish I had taken pictures but honestly didn’t want to remind myself of this terrible stay. Breakfast was included but didn’t bother, with the state of the rooms, toilets and showers. I dread to think what the kitchen is like!!! Was going to raise concerns at the hotel but what’s the point for £94, didn’t want to make an already terrible stay worse by getting myself worked up even more. I did tell reception about the sink with hair in and they did say they would send someone up to clean it. If didn’t use that specific toilet again though so can’t comment if it was actually cleaned. Just honestly don’t bother, don’t book it and think ‘our room will better’ because it won’t be. We walked past rooms being cleaned with the doors open and all of the rooms are absolutely filthy. Ju

The Crown London, WorldHotels Distinctive

We stayed at The Crown for three days after longer hiking trip in the Southwest. Located in a very interesting multi-ethnic part of London, The Crown is a 30-minute commute away from London's main attractions and thus quite pleasantly located. The modern part of the hotel is welcomingly bright, service at the reception has been very friendly and forthcoming. Our room was more than adequately large in size and very neat. The breakfast buffet was more than sufficient, with an agreeable choice of cereals, fresh fruit, and Full English components. Staff here was also very nice and attentive. A bit of a drawback was the cleanliness of the corridor before our room, which was apparently not vacuumed during our stay.

I was not informed that there will be a 10£ cash only deposit for the key, when I arrived at 11:40pm without cash I have no choice but only their ATM, yes there is a ATM machine right by their reception, and it charge me 1.5£ to withdraw 10£.that’s how they make the money. And there was only one plug per room and my pillows and quilt smelled horrible.

Viridian Apartments in Queen's Park Serviced Apartments

Very clean, very new, and the location is close to the subway station. After staying for 9 days, I could only clean once. If I want to change the sheets or clean again, I need to pay. The room is on the first floor, there is no way to open the window, and there is basically no ventilation.
The Black Lion Pub & Boutique Guesthouse

Have been to The Black Lion before but this is the first time since the revamp. In terms of stunning architecture, this is my favourite pub in London hands down. The ceiling is particularly stunning. Friendly welcome from the bar staff, grabbed a drink and then headed for our reservation in the the VERY impressive and refurbished dining room. Cannot recommend the new Indian menu highly enough. We had a range of dishes as an impromptu tasting platter and everything tasted fresh. Amazing flavours and even given a carry out container to take the leftovers home. All washed down with some delicious German Rothaus Pilsner. Will be going back ASAP!

An Introduction to London: UK's Vibrant Capital

London, the capital city of the United Kingdom, is situated along the famous River Thames. Known for its iconic landmarks, diverse culture, and captivating history, London offers a myriad of experiences for every traveler. Here's a fun fact: London was the first city in the world to have an underground subway system, fondly known as 'the Tube'.

Navigating Your Way to London

Most international visitors arrive via London's key airports - Heathrow, Gatwick, or Stansted. From there, trains, buses, or taxis offer convenient travel into the city. If you're not a UK citizen, it's essential to check visa requirements ahead of your trip.

While the British Pound is the official currency, most places accept major credit cards. English is the widely spoken language in London, although you'll likely hear a diverse array of languages due to the city's multicultural nature. Remember to respect local customs, such as queuing in an orderly manner, a practice taken seriously by Londoners!

When to Visit: London's Weather and Packing Tip

London experiences a temperate maritime climate. Summers (June to August) can be warm with temperatures in London reaching up to 73°F (23°C), while winters (December to February) are generally cold and damp. The city is known for its unpredictable weather, so packing layers and a waterproof jacket is recommended. The best times to visit London are during spring (April to June) and fall (September to November) when the weather is mild and the parks are in full bloom.
