Avon Hotel

Lovely,friendly people. We were on floor 4 which was awful to walk up all the stairs but the owner offered to move us for the second night but we decided to stay in the room we were in. It was a very small room and such a tiny ensuite but the room was clean, tidy and bed very comfy. The walk to Paddington is less than five minutes so perfect location.

Excellent location very near Paddington train station, only 5 minute walk. Centrally located close to shops. Lovely bedroom beautifully decorated. Clean sheets on bed and very comfortable to sleep in. Powerful shower. Breakfast good with a good variety of food. Fruits, cereals, crossiants, toast, coffee, tea, orange juice. Staff pleasant to talk to. Hair dryer in room. We stayed room 21. Staff brought luggage up to bedroom. Tea and coffee making facilities. Definitely would stay here again.

The best thing about the hotel by far is the location, really close to Paddington and restaurants/fast food outlets and I felt safe walking back alone at midnight. The room was tiny and pretty dirty, bedding was clean but stained and I checked for bed bugs and saw none. The bathroom was the dirtiest but also quite tired so I guess hard to look clean. The shower needed a scrub and there was a half used bottle of shower gel on the toilet with a hair stuck to it. Wasn’t given the wifi password so can’t comment on that. Breakfast is served 7:30-9am, as I was catching a train I had to miss it. Someone did come in the room when I was in the shower (2 hours before checkout) and moved around the room, knocked over a couple of things and left which I really wasn’t happy about. Receptionist was nice when I checked in and out which went a long way. Hotel has potential but needs a revamp.

Location was good, close to Paddington Station, but noise from trains about every 2 minutes, and interrupted WiFi connection. My room was located in the basement. Facilities were clean. Full English breakfast included, making it reasonably priced.

Location great near Paddington Station. Given a single room in the basement. Down a flight of steep stairs, dark and one window, frosted glass, facing a wall so practically no daylight. Not told the Underground runs underneath so could hear trains rumbling every minute! Thankfully not during the night. Breakfast was included in the price so plus there.

We stayed in this hotel for one night, overall we were disappointed with our stay. The location was good for travel to and around London, however the room was very small for three, it consisted of one double and one single bed with minimal room to move around. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and very very noisy, therefore disrupting sleep every time someone was to change position or move. The mattresses were very hard to lie on and had little comfort. Furthermore, the room was very dark and dungey, there was minimal natural light and even with the lights switched on it felt very dark. Our bathroom door lock had broken and the door itself was not able to be shut properly, this hindered any privacy for using the bathroom and showering. A lovely location, however we would not recommend staying here in view of the above. The rooms could use some modern decor and improved lighting for a better place to stay.

A very familiar hotel with very kind people in it, we stayed at Christmas 2022 .decoration of the old time, an excellent breakfast every day from the most polite people ever , it s so nice to meet people like them

A basic stay. Staff were rude and unhelpful when we were checked into the wrong room - essentially blaming us for their mistake. Rooms and hotel were tired and desperately in need of fixing and general maintenance. Definitely will not stay again.

We booked here last minute after an awful experience at another hotel. The lady on the desk was so kind and helpful. She couldn’t do enough to help. This is a real small treasure as is a family run business. The rooms were clean and tidy they even included breakfast! We had the best nights sleep for a long time. Thank you so much for making our trip not so awful. We can’t thank you enough.
