The Mayfair Townhouse - an Iconic Luxury Hotel

Mayfair London|0.57km from Clarence House
Walking through The fabulously restored Georgian facade of the ‘Mayfair Townhouse’ guests are transported back to the grand era of Edwardian hotel service, mixed with a dash of Art Deco style, stirred with 21st century luxury, resulting in a memorable cocktail of experiences. The Iconic Hotel group should be applauded for opening this ground breaking hotel despite the challenges of the past year. Staff are exceptional, clearly hand-picked to create a welcoming, casual, yet ultimately professional atmosphere where guests instantly feel at home and yet realise from the outset that they are in for a special treat during their stay. We were greeted by Mitchum and Barbara who introduced us to the facilities of the hotel and invited us to have a drink in the exquisite Dandy Bar whilst we waited for our room to be ready. We can highly recommend the artichoke croquettes, and arincini balls as a stunning appetiser to accompany The Dandy, cocktail itself. On arrival to our room (414) itself, we were equally impressed with space, natural light, furnishings, decor and exquisite detailing. Large sash Windows, dressed with beautiful fabrics continued the Art Deco styling through a contemporary and sleek interpretation. Even the generous bathroom had a sash window and subtle luxuries such as a heated wall for towels. The highlight of the stay however has to go to the sumptuous bedding, towels and dressing gowns - exceptional quality, making for a perfect nights sleep. Next morning, the breakfast again maintained the high standards, with the quality of produce matching the expectations set by the bedding. There were a few hiccups with staff getting used to service procedures as it was still the hotels first week, however nothing that won’t be ironed out. My only slight disappointment was around the highly hyped complimentary minibar including ‘Dandy Tipples’ which included numerous quality mixers but no actual alcohol to mix with them. Either reduce the hype and expectations or leave a gin to mix with the fabulous tonics. Overall a wonderful and memorable stay, and a welcome reprieve from the realities of the past months. It is tragic that the hotel will be restricted by further Tier 3 restrictions after only 2 weeks in operation, but i am sure their resolve and professionalism will still be there next year and I highly recommend a visit to experience the Mayfair Townhouse before everyone discovers its delights and you can’t get a room.

The Guardsman - Preferred Hotels and Resorts

London|0.59km from Clarence House
Well what can we say! We have been following this new hotel on Instagram and loved the ethos they were promoting. We decided to book for the weekend as a last minute get away ahead of a big celebration after a very rough year. We stay regularly at 5* hotels across London and Europe and don't normally write reviews due to being so busy, however the boutique/intimate feel really caught our attention, we like to feel that as guests we matter, rather than feeling like just another number. We were lucky enough to be the first paying guests visiting the hotel and every single member of the team went out of their way to make us feel so welcome and looked after! (the personal touches did not go unnoticed) The food was lovely and would easily compete with some great London classic restaurants and the team in the restaurant were so hospitable and you could feel the passion they had for what they do. There was a few minor teething issues with the tech in the room, but other than that, we loved our stay so much and have another stay booked for next weekend and we are now also going to book for our Nov & Dec breaks - even though we live 20 mins down the road. One of those breaks where you feel so at home you don't want to leave. Huge shout out once again to the team, we are starting the week the most refreshed we have felt this year We look forward to visiting again next week for our special celebration. xx Mr & Mrs Da Costa

Dukes London
4.3/5103 Reviews
A gem in the narrows of St. James The staff make you feel like family, not a room number. the service is most impeccable across the entire staff High Tea is outstanding and a much better value than the more heralded venues, with wonderful food and service in a charming atmosphere. I will highly recommend for all who value a smaller and intimate venue. The longstanding reputation of Dukes is well earned
The Stafford London

The Stafford is a small 5 Star and used to be the ”sister hotel to the Ritz”. It was forced to close during Covid on a number of occasions so we haven't visited for 3 years. If anything it's even better now than it was - quite a feat. We were given a Deluxe King on the third floor, a nice room with a view over the terrace/courtyard. My lady who is quite small found the bed quite high to get into (as usual, they really are quite high) but one of the most comfortable of any hotel we've stayed in, ever. Room service is precise and speedy and the Room service menu ranges across both the Restaurant and American Bar menus - we'll give a name check to Mahir who went over and above on a number of occasions. We decided to eat outside where possible due to Covid so the American Bar Terrace hosted by Viviana looked after us splendidly. The food is splendid. The Hotel has lost its ”Super Doorman”, Charlie and Head Concierge of years, Frank, but has replaced them with excellent and very personable staff. In all a wonderful 8 day break and it was good to be back 'home'. Highly recommended for those who like smaller luxury hotels with traditional 5 Star service where nothing is too much trouble with no corners cut.

The perfect location in central London. Close to so many restaurants and shops. Easy to get around on buses or a 3 mins walk to Green Park Station. The staff are all welcoming and helpful. The beds are comfortable. The air conditioning works. The best home away from home
The Ritz London

Truly an experience. My wife and I brought my mom to London for her 80th birthday, as afternoon tea at The Ritz was still on her bucket list. She had no idea I booked our stay there as well, and the Rolls Royce pickup from the airport. The hotel itself is what you expect, the Luis XVI style common areas and rooms are beautiful, but what really makes the place memorable, are the people. From our first contact with Johan, and our check in with Giacomo, Gavin, Roberto everyone was fantastic throughout our stay. The amount of time that the folks at reception are willing to spend just chatting and sharing stories with you is something you just don't find elsewhere. Many thoughtful interactions with my mom as the whole place seemed to know her big birthday was coming up. It was the experience of a lifetime. Thank you everyone at the Ritz for making it happen.
