City Aldgate Apartments

This is hands down the creepiest and worst service I have ever received. They are scammer!!! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I would rather have the plague, and covid and chickenpox at the same time than deal with these crooks again. I tried to check in after 6pm (online it says check in is open until 11pm), they told us we are too late and hung up. I called back and they said if we want to get in tonight as planned that we should send a further £750 via a link through an email! This is a scam. It was not on the policy. Make sure you stay safe and don’t send your bank/ID vi their dodgy links!!!!

AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. My one night booking at this place was a waste of time and money. Their check-in ⁸ is like going back to the prehistoric, difficult, unclear, confusing and slow. Combined with unprepared professionals this is a recipe for a headache. They are rude, unhelpful and to be least frustrated. But everything here isn't done by òùmistake. Everything ⁸is to make you get si⁹ò⁹oìpĺl0pppomething wrong, when you do they blame yourself for doing so. They have asked me to pay an unreasonable 'security deposit' of £500 in the first email and £750 in the second, despite this isn't mentioned in the advert. Your payment can take up to 15 days to go back into your account. When I called Trip.com to discuss it and ask for a refund based on a demand, that wasn'tĺĺĺllĺĺlĺplĺ you really are a fool.

This company is scamming people, they asked me for £500 deposit, when I got to the apartment even though I already paid full for the room. we couldn't get in the room and had to find somewhere else to stay, on my Birthday. It's absolutely disgusting how they treat people and I am taking it further to get my refund. I have so much more to say about my experience. I will not leave this alone.

i advise no one stays in this apartment or is the worst place i have stayed in with the rudest people i could have come across it’s not worth the money at all the apartments they describe online is not what you are booking as the apartment i booked said it has a balcony over the river thames when in fact it didn’t even have a balcony or look like any of the photos. the apartment had moulding on the roof which i have picture proof of and i have asthma when i woke up after the first night my throat had closed up i told them and they moved me to another one which was just as bad please people don’t waste your money in the disgusting vile place

After booking the apartment through ***********, I was contacted by City Aldgate Apartments in the *********** message center where they asked for my passport, requesting it to be sent through an obscure link. Before having the chance to reply they called me and asked me to hurry up which I thought was odd. I reluctantly sent them my passport, as alarm bells were already starting to go off. They then sent me an email outside of the *********** system, and requested that I send a £250.00 GBP deposit through another obscure payment link outside of the book.com system. At this point I began to suspect it was a scam, and I came to tripadvisor to check their reviews which are terrible, many customers experiencing the same thing, and being scammed out of security deposits. I contacted *********** to request a refund, but due to Stay Inn's no-refund policy, they were unable to recover the funds. I lost about £200 GBP, and luckily not an additional £250.00 GBP, but I am still amazed that even after contacting ***********, they were unable to retrieve the funds, or remove this malicious apartment from their website. DO NOT BOOK! SCAM!

I was nervous staying here after reading some of the reviews but I was happy to report no issues with staying, good communication, easy access to the property and a comfortable night. Property has great transport links, close to a bus stop and walking distance to Shadwell DLR & Overground. Would happily stay again

Clean and convenient but so hot in summer with no aircon. Room is Safe and quiet and kitchen and washer excellent. Just too hot in 31 deg heat. I asked for another fan but ot never arrived.
