Apparently this hotel has a Michelin chef, we didn’t see this reflected in the food prepared for our group. It was tasteless and boring. Nobody pairs chips with a grisly beef stew that could have done with another 12 hours slow cooking. Turkey curry, another unusual dish paired with bland rice garnished with currants. The fish was overdone and sinewy and tough. What a waste of produce. No variety in breads either. Choice of desert was yoghurt which the rest of the world eat for breakfast. Fruit which eventually appeared on our second night after we asked for it and an unidentifiable soft pudding which many mistook for an omelette. The buffet tray is set out wrong, it ought to flow from right to left as most people are right handed. There was no solid evidence of someone checking and replenishing empty dishes on the pass. Training is an issue. One good waiter is worth ten bad ones. There was an unbelievable incident in the dining room at breakfast time. I witnessed the whole thing. A lady buttered a roll wrapped it in a tissue and was about to leave the room. One of the waitresses, long hair in a plait spoke to her very loudly in a language that the lady didn’t understand. Totally overacted in quite an aggressive way. The lady was embarrassed and so was I. And by the way Management, there was no notice in the dining area stating that FOOD WAS NOT TO LEAVE THE DINING ROOM. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere and you need transport. There is no shuttle bus to the town. There is no pool. There are no loungers to sit out and relax Reception/ Management take heed of this one. I went down to collect my passport to find that it wasn’t there. It had been handed out to another woman. I would strongly advise that you appoint a responsible person for this job. Match the signature and photo in the passport. Rooms super clean, bed comfortable, if walk in shower, some had baths. The kitchen and dining area let the hotel down.
