The Old Vicarage

This is great bed and breakfast. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Bedrooms are clean and spacious, with good bathrooms. Breakfast is lovely, lots of choice - freshly cooked using local ingredients. All for a very good price.

I came down with my brother and a couple of friends and used The Old Vicarage as a base for using the Yamaha Off Road Experience and it was perfect for what we needed….the owners are very friendly and engaged and make excellent breakfasts! A couple of decent restaurants in the local town also looked after us. Thank you…..

My husband and I are finishing Week One of a six week cycling trip. We are, for the most part, staying in pubs, but occasionally we have the rare privilege of staying in an extraordinary place. The Old Vicarage is one of those places. A beautiful, spacious, well lit room. Gorgeous bathroom with a lovely shower. Delicious breakfast (OMG those scrambled eggs with smoked salmon). But mostly it was the attention to detail, and warmth, of our hosts. We had had an extremely arduous day of cycling. What happened next? The offer of having out clothes laundered. We were offered the most delicious and fortifying Welsh fruit/molasses bread,and water, join our arrival. Amazing. And when we had forgotten a key piece of equipment in our room upon checkout, Michael chased after us in his car. EXTRAORDINARY. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE HIGHLY ENOUGH.

What a pair Diana and Mike are! The best host....such kind, warm hearts and try their best to help! We first arrived and Mike came out to greet us and offered us a cup of tea straight away...I mean who does that!! We were welcomed so warmly and given such a cosy and clean room with ensuite. They really took care of us, tried to help our sight seeing and oh my goodness, the breakfast was one of the best! Omellete, poached eggs, avacado, beans, sourdough bread! They have lovely communal area with so many books and games to borrow. A friendly cat lol! 35 mins away from Aber, 20 mins to the butterfly house and free Red Kite Feed station! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable...highly HIGHLY recommended!

A weekend stay with some motorcycling mates. Mike and Diane were the perfect hosts, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Faboulous meals and even treated to Diane playing a few songs on the piano over dinner. The B&B is very comfotable and spotless. Would thoroughly recommend a stay. I'm sure we'll be back! Andy P

We stayed at the Old Vicarage on the 28/05/22. We had booked this accommodation in October 2021 as Llangurig is quite popular with cyclists and walkers. I must confess that long before our trip we Mike and Diane were extremely helpful. There were issues with *********** that meant we could only book rooms as single occupancy so I contacted Mike and he updated their booking system which is separate from the *********** system! Leading upto the stay the hosts asked if we would like a table booking in the local pub and of course we said yes. On the day of our stay we arrived by bicycle as part of our Trans Cambrian Way trip and we were greeted by Diane and Mike who offered us Tea / Coffee and Cake! After a lovely chat about our day, the beautiful property and learning about Mike and Diane and their very impressive careers in the hospitality and hoteliers industry we were shown to our rooms! These were fantastic, lovely and spacious with comfortable beds and the most amazing duvets! They had also been updated to include USB sockets on the walls which I must say was very useful as I only had my iphone cables and no wall adapter and I suspect this was Mikes addition. Well done Mike if it was! After a lovely meal in the pub we decided to get an early night and so back to the BnB we went. The beds were comfortable and so were the pillows! I slept like a baby and woke feeling ready for breakfast to take on the remaining miles of our trip. Mike greeted us and sat us at our table, we had a lovely menu with many options available including Porridge, Full Welsh Breakfast, Toast and Jam/Marmalade and some additional items at request! You really could not fault the breakfast! It was lovely but the service from the moment we arrived to the minute we left was just exemplar of this industry and it really made a difference! You simply don’t get that service, care and attention in a chain hotel! This is a long winded way of saving “Visit this place it is amazing and so were the hosts” Thank you Mike and Diane for everything! You were lovely and we will be back again! Nathan Manning

We were made most welcome and nothing was too much trouble for Mike and Diane. Breakfasts were excellent as were the packed lunches which were provided at a reasonable cost. Our room was first rate. A most enjoyable stay and this b&b is thoroughly recommended.

Excellent Hotel, Very impressive and welcoming from the hosts. Comfortable rooms and superb breakfast. If you are looking for a place to stay in mid Wales, then this is the place to go. Very well placed for visiting Rhayader, the Eden Valley and surrounding countryside.
