All the staff are friendly and we felt welcome, happy to talk to us with smiles, young and energetic staff and surprised most of them spoke good English.
Breakfast choices not many variety, no egg & sausage, hash brown, no hot food. They serve cheese, ham, cereals, yogurt, fruit, toast, croissant, pastel de nata, simple cake, my kids like the local chocolate & vanilla cake very much adn I think that's is tasty too as not over sweety. Self-service coffee marchine with couple choices do is job, kids are happy with unlimited hot chocolates from the same machine. Staff regularly re-filled the food without request which is nice and helpful.
We had a family room at 5th floor with balcony is quite decent, plenty of sunlight with not much view, didn't use the small pool as we visited in mid of Feb. Two single beds in the middle of the room, could be better to have one double bed instead. My two kids (12 & 9) love the loft beds on the top of the master beds made them have privacy.
If the hotel can arrange cleaning the room/floor more frequent and change the towel as well it will be much better, we stayed 7 days and only changed the floor towel on the 6th day (we use our own towels for showers, only put oneon the floor next to the shower cabin and another one hanging for dry the hand.)
Hn thr common area, the hotel provide a traditional video game machine, with another big TV with Playstation (football game), and some boardgames available, pretty nice settings play area, good for family, or group guests.
2 lifts definitely need upgrade, very old and dated. If other guests forgot to close the gate inside the lift from the upstair levels, you can't get the lift down to the ground floor, then you have to talk up to the 5th floor.
Location is very centro, within 15 walk from the Saldanha Metro station, 5-10 mins to Porque or Picoas stations (different color lines), very convenient, a supermarket Aldi closes to Porque station can shop for the grocery refill. Even grap the Bolt (cheaper than Uber) is only €5-8 a trip for 15-30 mins ride, plenty of restaurants with options nearby. Can reach to the Avenida da Liberdade around 20 mins by foot.
In Lisbon the main problem is walk a lots, many hills up and downs, make sure you wear a pair of comfort shoes. It's definately a good and potential budget hotel/hostel, we have a pleasant stay and enjoyed it, we will come back.
