La Anita Rainforest Ranch is a truly eco-friendly place which allowed us to slow down and unwind during our 8-night stay. We used it as our base for exploring the area (e.g. Parque national rincon de la Vieja, Cathedral waterfall, a cooking class, Sensoria), which worked well as it gave us an opportunity to explore the area. The hosts, Pablo and Ana, are wonderful and incredibly hospitable, as other reviewers have noted. Pablo’s chocolate tour attracts visitors staying elsewhere, and was a highlight! Breakfasts and dinners were delicious and we enjoyed meeting other guests and chatting with Pablo. The cabins are a wonderful mix of rustic and comfortable touches. We loved hearing the sounds of birds in the morning, wildlife at night, and rain hitting the roof. Wifi in a common area helped us dis-connect and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. If you are looking for a rich experience that will allow you to relax, slow down and enjoy nature, look no further.

This family-owned farm features comfy cabins nestled at the edge of the jungle. There are nature trails to explore, birds to watch, hammocks next to the pond to enjoy, and a cacao processing facility to tour. This is a chocolate lover’s dream destination!

Our stay at La Anita Rainforest Ranch was a fabulous experience. We enjoyed three nights where we awoke to birds singing outside our cabin window each morning. The meals were excellent and staff so wonderful. The Chocolate and cooking experience introduced us to the Costa Rican culture.

What an authentic and beautiful place with the most genteel, charming and gracious hosts! Several forest walking paths and an orange tree outside the cottage with a never-ending stream of varied bird life to watch. And chocolate factory on site - very interesting.

A wonderful place, tranquil and welcoming. The setting is beautiful and the hosts first class. The chocolate ‘tour’ is very interesting and the chocolate very very nice indeed. There are some fabulous walks on the finca and plenty of wildlife to keep you occupied for a day. The accommodation is very good and everything is well appointed. The food is also rather good and highly recommended.

I travelled to Santa Teresa and to Nosara, searching for yoga places and peace and nature. I wanted to check out the rainforest part of the country, I wanted to meditate near the rainforest and found this hotel was right in the middle of the rainforest, so I figured i'd feel safe enough and yet peaceful enough. They also have a yoga platform which is one the reasons I chose this location. Pablo and Ana are extremely accommodating and kind. They were flexible with plans, they helped me find what I was looking for. The amenities are very clean, the place is well looked after, the scenery is breathtaking. I highly recommend a trip to Sensoria if you like waterfalls, its waterfall galore. It is a little touristy area, yes. I didn't see many yoga aficionados on this trip, but I did rest deeply and ate well, and loved spending time by the waterfalls.
