OYO Blaby Westfield Hotel

If you are reading the reviews and thinking “surely it can’t be that bad” believe them. Do not book this hotel. We read the reviews and, like fools with hope, assumed this was a case of mixed experiences. It was last minute, and we needed somewhere for my mum’s uncle to stay. He is 84 years old. We gave Oyo Blaby Hotel the benefit of the doubt. That was our mistake. At 3am, in the middle of winter, the heating in his room was not working. An elderly man, cold, alone, and paying for a service that explicitly includes heating. He called the hotel to report it. They ignored the call. The following morning, we contacted the hotel ourselves. Instead of an apology, or even basic professionalism, the so called manager became aggressive, raised his voice, berated us, and then hung up on me when I calmly stated that I have a legal background and that they are liable to provide the services they advertise and charge for. That is not a threat. That is a fact. Let that sink in. An 84 year old guest left without heating overnight. A legitimate complaint. And the response was hostility and a slammed phone. I have also been advised, although I cannot independently confirm this, that the hotel houses vulnerable people who have been placed there temporarily by the council. If this is true, the implications are deeply concerning. Imagine vulnerable people with no access to heating. Imagine asking for basic necessities and being ignored or spoken to like you are a problem rather than a human being. Imagine that being your only option. This place is not just poorly run. It is indifferent to human comfort and dignity. The reviews are not exaggerations. They are warnings. Do not stay here. Do not book for elderly relatives. Do not book for anyone vulnerable. There are bad hotels, and then there are places that should not be operating at all. We regret this booking entirely. Learn from our mistake. Kudos to the Trip.Com team coming through and saving the day. The only positive outcome of this experience.

Previous reviews about the hotel from different guests were false, they were written by jobless *******. Here’s an actual review. Arrived at hotel, parking and checking in was easy. Staff was kind, provided us with hotel wi-fi and directed us to our room. Room looked good when walking in however, on further inspection, it wasn’t very clean (images provided), the bedside table was dirty, the window sills were dirty too with dead bugs there, the bed sheets/covers on one bed were not really clean. cobwebs and spiders were in and around the room, even had a dead one on that one bed which wasn’t clean. Bathroom was okay, one light was working, previous guests had left their shower gel in the bathroom, this wasnt picked up by staff here unfortunately. Overall, It was just very unhygienic/unclean but it was cheap, but the bare minimum is providing a clean space for guests. The area however was quiet and had lots of places nearby which was lovely. Hopefully this can be improved for future guests! Thank you for having us.

Hotel needs updating, not a good appearance from the outside, very overgrown. Hotel room curtains need to be washed and windows cleaned. Mould around the bath. No toiletries supplied, carpets and furniture need a good deep clean. Sheets and towels very white and great condition. Could be a great hotel, just needs updating and general deep cleaning. No one manning the reception.

STAY WELL AWAY ----- Absolutely appalling service. Booked hotel arrived around 10.30 pm only to be told sorry cant find booking. Showed booking confirmation still nothing. Waited over an hour still nothing had to book somewhere else and still waiting refund as money was recieved. Daylight robbery book at your own risk.

This is an appalling hotel. I found the hotel receptionist really rude and unwelcoming. The check in time was so late with the room price so high. The manager said that parking was free, but upon arriving home I received a parking ticket for £120. The room was not clean and facilities were absolutely minimum. It was also cold. I was in Blaby for the funeral of a close member of the family. I cannot recommend in any way this hotel.
