Bell Gate House

I booked this guest house expecting a cozy B&B experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. Despite being advertised as a bed and breakfast, there was no breakfast provided—an essential part of the B&B promise. I had reserved a double room, but upon arrival, I was given two single rooms on separate floors. This was bizarrely described as a “bonus,” though it felt more like a logistical headache than a perk. One of the rooms had malfunctioning facilities, and in the other, the sound of the toilet flushing echoed constantly, making it difficult to relax or sleep. While the towels were soft, they had a dingy grey tinge that made them feel less than clean. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait to leave and certainly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine B&B experience.

A lovely room clean with a comfortable bed. Only problem was the shower was cold.

Room was to cold no any facility like heater and shower was broken fix on too hot water will never gonna book that again

I made a booking and then later on when I got there he said I don’t have a room he never had of trip.com now struggling to get a refund for the place i never stayed on

No remote for the television. Not really a problem this time as I didn’t want the tv on.

Hotel advertised as 24h reception. I arrived after midnight and after waiting for 10min outside someone came to open the door. Proceeded to complain that they were closed. Wanted to charge me £10 for the late check in. When I refused I was called a (profanity) and handed the key in furry. Terrible experience.

Very clean Pleasant shower head leaks and temperature control on shower goes from cold to very hot without control

Budget room very close to the city centre Excellent location being only a ten minute walk into the city centre. A very reasonable price too and friendly staff on check in with good communication before we arrived. The only two down sides were that the matresses were not comfortable at all and were two single beds pushed together to make a double. Also, the room was quite light (for us) at night because of the type of blind. Those two things feel quite easy to fix though and other than those issues, it suited us well.
