The location is too good when bordering the border gate, but the equipment is too poor. 4 stars but the TV is not smart but catches the box but can't catch any channels other than VTV channels, the blanket doesn't seem to vacuum often. The worst experience was a power outage in the middle of the night, but due to a technical error in the room, the staff had to knock on the door to the room and climb on the roof to fix it. The whole suite of rooms is dark, but someone knocks on the door in the middle of the night is really not interesting.

Family run hotel. Located about 5 minutes to Railway Station and about 2.5 km to border and town centre. Not many food outlets nearby. Hotel and room are kept clean daily. Amenities provided enough for use and quality of towels are better than some 4 star hotel I have stayed. Staffs are very helpful and even enquired if I need anything. I would recommend to anyone who brings children along due to restrictions against bringing lady friends overnight.

You can see some street views of the old street, including: Ga Lao Cai (train station), but the train station is not lively at all, a bit similar to the market town of domestic third- and fourth-tier cities. The hotel is very clean, similar to the domestic chain store, is three-star, but they are checked in after 14:00, if you check in early, you need to pay another price 340K Shield (100 yuan Rmb), the original price is about 230. Looking at the scenery outside the hotel is okay, there is a bay window sitting by the window, drinking a cup of coffee is very pleasant (send a picture). Xiao Du (Ms.) at the front desk of the hotel can speak Chinese and there is no problem with basic communication. The owner (Ms.) of the small coffee shop on the right hand side of the main entrance of the hotel is very kind and Chinese is not bad.
