Dengfenglai Youth Hostel (Lanzhou West Railway Station) Reviews

I stayed 2 nights in this hostel. It is really well located (many shops, night market, metro), but the first time it's not easy to find the right entrance in the building. Indeed, the entrance is little bit dodgy because it's dark and dirty. But once you arrive at the 8th floor, everything is perfect. I really recommend this hostel in Lanzhou. En effet, le hall d'entrée est sombre, sale et n'invite pas à venir. Mais une fois arrivé au 8ème étage, tout est vraiment parfait. Je recommande cette auberge à Lanzhou. The owner and his wife are great. She of the two has especially good English. They are both very engaging, warm, and friendly. The hostel open area is one of the most attractive I’ve seen in China, too. Less good is not having curtains on the beds for privacy, the toilet doors at the end always being open to the main area, and it being too cold in the main area in October because windows are open. I’m sure it’s definitely a great place in September, and before, when more people can be together enjoying the main area and the warmth of the hosts.

Best hostel I've stayed at in China after a month of travelling there. Great atmosphere and vibe. The owners were super lovely, just really genuine people who were more than happy to help out. Cool decor and "lounge" area with people just hanging out and enjoying themselves. Bathrooms were fine (no western toilet) but still clean. Overall a great experience.

I had several options when choosing a hostel, but I ultimately decided on this one, and I’m glad I did. The staff were friendly and spoke English well, making communication easy. The design of the hostel is impressive, and my room was clean and comfortable. However, I would recommend improving the bathroom and toilet facilities for an even better experience. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and will come back again.

Amazing experience. The staff is really helpful and they gave me good tips what to do and eat in Lanzhou. They also spoke English which is always appreciated in China. They helped me to deliver a package without questions. It is close to a metro station and west railway station. Really good restaurants just around the corner. The common areas are really nice. Thank you, will come back!

Recommendations and help to organize my stay were great. Friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic service. Location is excellent. Stylish and comfortable facilities. Whether for a night or a week, highly recommend for both foreigners, locals, backpackers or groups.

Great place

The first time I stayed and waited for the wind was at the end of 2019. I came here four times in five years. I witnessed fat cat Oreo’s failure to lose weight and also witnessed my own growth. The boss and the landlady are so nice. Waiting for the wind to come. See you next time!

Environment: The road is a little difficult to find. At the end of the alley, the elevator goes to the 8th floor, and then you can walk one floor to get there. It must be a very old youth hostel. The facilities are relatively average. There are many sinks, 4. There are 2 toilet stalls on the right hand side and 6 shower stalls on the left hand side. Service: The boss's service is very good and he helps recommend delicious food. Hygiene: There are restrictions on hygiene in the old youth hostel, but the owner has been mopping the floor and the beds are also very good. Facilities: Everything is there, except that the shower is a bit cold and the bathroom heater is a bit broken, but everything else is good.

Pros. It is one subway stop from Lanzhou West Station. It is close. There are night markets, clothing stores, and shopping centers nearby. There are Lanzhou Wukong noodles, etc., so you can eat cheaply. There is a supermarket nearby. It is easy to get to other places by bus and subway. The rooms are non-smoking. There is a water purifier. It is good to eat and rest in the common area. There is a space to dry your laundry. Cons. They smoke in the common area. This is a pro if you are a smoker. It was hard to find the entrance. I walked around the building. Please take a good look at the pictures I uploaded. Other information The Lanzhou Xingu Bus does not accept Alipay for foreigners. You can only board with cash. Prepare cash. 2 yuan. If you go one block east, there is a night market. There is a shopping center with Uniqlo. Laundry is 5 yuan. The laundry dries quickly. If you want a place close to Lanzhou West Station, this is a good choice.

It's okay. I only stayed for one night to transition, so I didn't have time to experience too much of the atmosphere. It's on the 9th floor, the top floor of the community. There are a lot of restaurants around, the West Station Night Market is also nearby, and the Gansu Museum is not far away.

This is the first stop for this trip to the Northwest. I arrived late because my flight was late, but I was still warmly received by the boss. The environment is very good and the cat is also very cute.
