The only advantages of this hotel are its very convenient location, as it is very close to Lanzhou Railway Station, and its low price. Unfortunately, almost everything else was disappointing.
There was a very strong and unpleasant smell in the room. I couldn't tell whether it was cigarette smoke, mold, a bad smell coming from the bathroom, or a combination of all three. The bathroom was extremely small and cramped, making it difficult to even turn around. The housekeeping was also far from thorough. There were only one or two layers of toilet paper left by the previous guest, and no fresh toilet paper had been provided.
The shower was another problem. The water pressure was very weak, and most of the holes in the showerhead were clogged, making it very difficult to rinse the shower gel off properly.
The most bizarre experience, however, was the hairdryer. It suddenly stopped working halfway through use. I hung it back on the wall, and about ten minutes later, it unexpectedly started running by itself. After running for a short while, the nozzle of the hairdryer became so hot that it actually came off. This was not only inconvenient but also potentially dangerous.
Overall, apart from the convenient location and cheap price, I would not recommend this hotel. There are simply too many basic problems with the room and facilities.
