A note to all the VIEWERS considering staying in a hotel for the foreseeable. Please be kind to the team members that you encounter during your stay! 🙏🏻 Due to disappearance of income for months, the hotel you are staying in probably cannot afford to bring many team members back from furlough. If you are asked to wait in the bar, with a complimentary drink when you arrive at the hotel because your room is not quite ready. Sit patiently in the bar, and please be assured the team are working as quickly as they can. Imagine if you had to clean 20+ bedrooms yourself and think how long it would take you and how you would be feeling after room number 10! 😩 Don’t be surprised if the receptionist, waiter, housekeeper that you come across, does not actually have that role in their job title. With limited staffing, the hotel becomes 1 team! So if the waiter isn’t familiar with what beers are on offer and has to check, don't sigh and roll your eyes! Say thank you...they are probably the HR Manager! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Your room may not be cleaned everyday, as they have a duty to protect the team and as you should all well know, the virus can survive on surfaces and in the air. So why would they want to send our team into a dangerous environment just so you can have your bed sheets tucked in! They can of course offer you a top up of any guest supplies! In fact, you can have as many tea bags and loo rolls as you like!!! And yes, you have single use cups in your room, because no, they don’t have time to run 400+ cups and mugs through the dishwasher on a daily basis. 🤔🤔😫😒 When you decide to dine in the hotel, the menu may be limited. Please consider that there is likely to only be 1 chef in the kitchen, on his own, running the whole operation...yes that includes washing up too! They are grateful you chose to dine with them, but please be considerate and don’t complain because there isn’t enough options on the menu and you wanted steak! 🥗🥣🌮🥪🍲🥘🌭 I am sure the rate you are paying for your room may be a considerable amount of money to you. But, be rest assured they are considerably cheaper than what you would usually pay. So please do not ask for a discount because the leisure facilities are closed. As above, the industry is already struggling for income without having to process refunds because you weren't impressed with sausage you had at breakfast because it tasted too piggy! 🐷👏🏻👏🏻 And lastly, it is highly likely the hotel is going through a redundancy and restructure process right now. It is a very sad time for the hospitality industry. So please be kind, it is a very stressful and upsetting time for the team. They work very hard and very long hours to ensure that you have a relaxing break! I could go on but I am sure you get the gist by now! The staff here was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a travel agency in the lobby open during work hours where you can get helpful information about tours, local beaches, restaurants etc that we found very useful. The hotel is also conveniently located next to several banks, eating places, supermarkets and Langkawi’s Kuah night market that occurs on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We had an ocean view room that gave us a view of the ocean and pool. Our queen room was spacious and so was the bathroom, which included both a shower and bathtub. The rooms were decently clean though I would say the focus was more on certain items or areas and not the whole room. Still, it wouldn’t hold us back from visiting again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We were told family room was unavailable upon check in and offered suite with 2 rollaway beds. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. We did not want our kids to spend a single night on these so requested for a room change to family room as booked which was available later that evening (questionable really). The housekeeping guy couldn't wait to pack his bed whilst we were busy packing our things to move and he insisted on taking away 2 mineral water bottles. Lucky we insisted on the change as family room was so much bigger and the single beds comfier. Another big issue that everyone should know is the lack of hot water in the hotel. We were showering with mostly cold or very little warm water. Brought up the issue but nothing much was done about the no hot water issue.

We stayed one night for ferry transfer on the next day. Location is strategic, there is a mini mart nearby. 6 minutes to jetty point by car, it takes around 20 minutes if you walk to jetty point. Room is not too small, it is clean. You can hear some noise from outside but it doesn't disturb us. Two towels were provided. No hair dryer is provided. The only cons is the lamp is not bright although we switch on all lights. Other than this, overall is suitable if you are looking for a budget hotel. Bear in mind, Geopark Inn is in the Kuah, there is another Geopark hotel located in Oriental Village.

The hotel is located in a conveninet location, within walking distance to the Lagenda park and Eagle square-- which are a must see. I walked there twice in about 15- 20 minutes; it would cost about 10 RM by Grab taxi. Some rooms have a good view of the Maha tower and the bay --the tower lights up at night and is really beautiful. The bed is quite comfortable and the WIFI is very strong . The shower and hot water runs alright . The staff, Dan, was very helpful and helped me to complete my itinerary . I was travelling alone, but there were families there as well . It is budget friendly but the amenties exceeded my expectations. Of course it is not luxurious, but the rooms are clean. I enjoyed my stay.
