Dayang Bay Resort Langkawi

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and mostly used the room just to sleep. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The view from the room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the room itself was cozy and had everything we needed. The soundproofing was also quite good, which made it easy to get a good night’s sleep. We had breakfast included, and it offered everything you would normally expect from a standard European breakfast. Nothing extraordinary, but perfectly good and satisfying. I would like to mention a few small points for future guests, without lowering my rating because they didn’t significantly affect our stay. The room cleanliness could be improved. The bed linens and towels were perfectly clean, but the decorative pillows, curtains, and parts of the bathroom didn’t seem as clean as they could have been. I’d rate the overall room cleanliness around 5/10. Also, there were no toothbrushes provided, and the toiletries were not replenished in sufficient quantities for a two-night stay. I would recommend bringing your own toothbrush and personal hygiene items just in case. Despite these minor issues, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel left a positive overall impression. Thank you for your hospitality!

I enjoyed the food and the swimming pool during my stay. I would like to suggest a few improvements. It would be better if the air-conditioner remote control was placed in a more accessible location instead of being mounted so high on the wall. Some children may not be able to reach it. In my case, I had to climb onto the bed just to adjust the controls. I would also appreciate having more TV channel options available so guests can choose what they want to watch instead of being limited to a single channel. Overall, I had an enjoyable stay and appreciate the facilities provided.

Dayang Bay is located on the Kuah side of Langkawi, quite far from Pantai Cenang. It’s an older property that feels a bit dated and quieter now compared to its pre-COVID vibrancy. Mainly suited for families or travellers looking for a simple, budget-friendly stay. Service could be more proactive and the breakfast selection is limited with some items served cold. Overall, it’s okayish for a basic stay but it could use a refresh to bring back its earlier energy and appeal

Check in to long waiting and after check in the bed towel are smelly.

Disappointing – barely 2-star experience Review: I really wanted to like this place, but the service was awful. Breakfast was repetitive with very little variety. The pool is nice, but that’s about the only positive. Rooms are old and poorly arranged – the air conditioner blows directly onto the second bed. Balconies have chairs but no small table. You have to carry drinking water from the hallway – nothing provided in the room. For my birthday, the hotel did absolutely nothing – not even a simple greeting, let alone a fruit plate or any small gesture. No face or hand towels, only shower towels. No toothbrush or toothpaste provided either. Housekeeping was not clean. Slippers were changed daily, but bed linen wasn’t changed once in 4 days. Maybe you have to specifically ask? But no one told us. The staff was rude. Overall, this hotel barely deserves 2 stars.

The hotel is far away from main attractions (30 mins) so I had to pay for a taxi 30 mins each way. The sheets were disgustingly dirty, even when they were changed each time. The room was a deluxe room but so 2 star looking. I picked this resort because it was a very good price including breakfast and I wanted to have my first trip with breakfast included. Especially since it’s my honeymoon .The breakfast was horrendous. Me and my husband would only pick these items each time because everything else was so bad. My husband hardly eats when he’s there’s so it’s a waste of money. I spoke to someone else there and she was complaining too. The condition and taste of the food was like hospital food. Not many options and most of it was cold when I reached down around 9/9:45. They have candles at the bottom to keep it heated so shouldn’t be an excuse. They have this really bad tasting orange juice. I don’t like the taste of water so I always drink juice, however every time I went down I had to drink water. There was a time I put the sign on for room service and when I came back to the room, the room was not made up. The towels smell like damp towels, even when I asked them to change them, they always had this bad smell as if they weren’t even cleaned. One had a stain on it. I don’t think they wash their towels properly or use detergent. Pool closes so early at 8pm. Wouldn’t come back. Staff were lovely though and I liked having a balcony.
