Frangipani Langkawi Resort

This hotel is located right on Central Beach in Langkawi, and our overall stay was quite good. We were so satisfied after the first night that we decided to extend our stay by an extra day. Our initial room was right by a small pool, offering direct access, and it was also close to the beach, with a very pleasant environment and view. When we extended our stay, the hotel moved us to a different room. This new room was a bit further from the beach, and we noticed more mosquitoes. We asked the front desk if they had mosquito coils, but were told we'd have to buy them ourselves, which was a minor inconvenience, though thankfully, we weren't bitten that night. We suspect the room change might be because the poolside room, with its better view, is preferred for new arrivals to enhance their initial experience. The hotel's surroundings are very convenient. Turning right out of the hotel, there's a small shop about 200 meters away where you can buy flip-flops or rent a scooter at a reasonable price, which greatly boosted our convenience and overall happiness during our stay. Just a short walk north along the beach, there's a place that's both a Western restaurant and a bar. In the evenings, they have a fireworks show right outside, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Prices are also very reasonable there; a beer costs around 12 MYR and ice cream is 8 MYR, with most guests being European and American tourists. Enjoying a drink and watching the show with the sound of the waves at night was incredibly relaxing. Finally, let's talk about breakfast. For a hotel in this price range, the breakfast quality is highly commendable. Compared to hotels of a similar price (around 500 RMB) during peak season in Qinhuangdao, China, this hotel offers significantly better value for money. Plus, during the off-season, neither the beach nor the pool gets crowded, allowing for very relaxed swimming and holiday enjoyment. The overall vacation vibe was wonderfully comfortable.

A very cozy hotel with nice rooms and comfortable beds. It's great that there's a place to dry clothes, which is super important for a beach vacation. The beach and pool are good, and the grounds are beautiful. The food is excellent, whether it's for breakfast, room service, or at the bar. The hotel's location is perfect, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, plus a 24-hour convenience store. The duty-free shop isn't far either.

We really liked that the hotel had direct access to the beach (a beautiful and quiet beach). The facilities were good (some signs of wear and tear, but this type of 'bungalow' is generally like that in any country... the pools, restaurant, and its views were very good.

Traveling with family, we were a group of four, and the room with one king-sized bed and two single beds was very convenient (though two separate rooms would have been even better!). During the Chinese New Year, it was over 2200 RMB per night, which is pricey, but for a resort, it offered decent value for money. Right across from the entrance is 'Zhenlang Garden Restaurant,' and their seafood is absolutely amazing!

I admit this hotel is a bit old, so it's not as modern as newly built ones. But when you're in Langkawi, an island style just isn't going to be super modern. However, the hotel's environment and service are excellent. The restaurant and pool are right next to the beach, so having breakfast every day with a sea view is just amazing. The frangipani flowers, which are the hotel's namesake, are everywhere inside the hotel, along with many other beautiful plants and a variety of birds singing. I highly recommend staying here!
