It’s always a treat to visit Northcote. This visit I sampled the vegetarian menu. I wasn’t blown away by the main dish (cauliflower Waldorf) but the breads and starter were amazing, and my husband loved his dishes too. The desserts were delicious. Great service and ambiance

My wife and I keep returning to Northcote, because it's just so welcoming, so comforting - an ideal place to retreat from the world for a bit. Every member of staff makes you feel like they're pleased to see you - almost like being welcomed into the home of a good friend. The bar is relaxed, cosy without being cramped, and has a brilliant selection of drinks - I'd recommend trying some of the less well-known cocktails, as there are some real discoveries to be made. Some of the local gins are quite something - and of course, due to their partnership with Louis Roederer, the champagnes are excellent. Dinner is always delicious - bursting with flavour, inventive without being mad, just the right balance between courses. I'd strongly recommend the cheese course, with the flight of port - a brilliant way to end the meal. Rooms are really tastefully appointed, very comfortable, and generously sized. This is my sixth or seventh visit to Northcote (I've lost count!), and I'll keep coming back, time and time again, because there's nowhere else quite like it. Other high-end restaurants might match the dinner, other high-end hotels might match the comfort, but nowhere else I've been pairs it all together quite so seamlessly. I genuinely feel like I'm coming home when I arrive at Northcote (but a far, FAR nicer version of home!).

OMG what a wonderful experience. We decided to stay the night following my attendance at the cookery school some time ago, but have only just managed to get around to visiting again. What lovely staff, they were friendly, sincere and efficient. Everything we needed was provided, and I believe if it hadn't been then, they would have been totally devastated! We had the 5 course tasting menu (Michelin *) which was glorious, even though I might not have chosen the exact courses we had - mackerel, sweetbreads, turbot, pigeon and clementine. Such a lovely evening, where nothing was missed or left to chance. Our room was spectacular, with all the comforts of home and an extremely nice bed which was great to sleep on. Breakfast was another feast with an extensive menu which you were able to mix and match with. Can't wait to go again

We recently stayed for one night in a Junior Suite. It was a well appointed room with a beautiful bathroom with complimentary Penhaligans Quercus products. There was a mini fridge in the room with bottles of complimentary Pellegrino water, fresh milk, plus wine & beer which were not complimentary. There was a coffee/ tea machine & some freshly made ginger biscuits in the room. On arrival, we had a cocktail in the bar; the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the drinks were delicious - Candy Floss & Spicy Margarita. Our pescatarian tasting menu was booked for 7.30pm. We were advised to be in the bar for 7 to look over the food and drink menus & to order an aperitif. The food was delicious, it was obvious that all the diners were enjoying their meals. The service staff were knowledgable about each dish, explaining everything very clearly. The food was delicious, great care obviously going into the ingredients, the cooking and presentation process. Breakfast too was delicious. We noted that for non residents, the cost of breakfast was £25.00 per person which seemed very reasonable given the choice of food on offer. All in all a really good experience, a beautiful hotel in beautiful countryside & every staff member we met was charming. Thanks to Lisa and all the team.

What a place and what a treat! Celebrating my sisters special birthday on Easter Sunday. We arrived at 2pm welcomed by many friendly, smiley staff. The location is beautiful with some lovely walks near by which the staff advised us on. Rooms are lovely, very spacious and clean. Beds super soft with lovely clean smelling sheets, towels and robes. Food was out of this world as were the cocktails and other drinks and wines. Very knowledgeable staff in the Resturant and bar. All the staff we amazing and happy throughout our time there but Daniel was standout. Professional but charming with a good sense of humour. From start to finish the best experience for all four of us. Extra special from a special occasion. We will definitely be back! Thankyou all!

Really enjoyable stay. Impressed with room which was spacious and tastefully decorated. Lovely toiletries, robes, tea and coffee and waters. Everything you could need. Classical music playing on arrival enhanced the feeling of calm and relaxation. Pre dinner drinks were lovely. Staff friendly and helpful. We had the 5 course seasonal gourmet menu (on veggie) with wine flight. Just superb. An hour late getting to the table but it didn’t matter. Food was spectacular. Just perfect. Breakfast next day also lovely. Only negative was that room was far too hot and AC didn’t appear to be controllable from within the room. Even when we asked for the temperature to be reduced at reception it hardly made any difference. Other than that, a perfect luxury Easter break. We will definitely be back

Wonderful family meal with Grandma for an early Mums day, birthday for Dad & new job celebrations for Mum. Wonderful menu, 2 of us did 2 starters & main with cheese, 2 did starter, main & dessert. We all had the paired wine flight which went perfectly. Amazing staff in the lovely bar & restaurant who looked after us all brilliantly.

Booked 5 course dinner, bed and breakfast package for my Birthday. When arrived at noon for lunch. We ate from the standard menu for lunch. We opted for the specials which included bone marrow covered steak. Staff very attentive and nothing too much trouble. We paired our 3 course with the suggested accompanying wine pairing. After lunch we checked into our room. The room was very spacious, with fresh milk in the fridge, still/sparking water and a wide variety of tea and coffee. For dinner we decided to do the wine flight. We looked all the wine just as much as the food. I really liked the pigeon and scallop courses. Again, the service was very good. For breakfast we had a full English. Will be returning.

We stayed for a Festive Christmas 3 day break arriving 24th and departing 27th Dec 2023. Hotel was full which led to a general happy festive vibe around the place. Staff were welcoming and friendly throughout. Most of the promised offerings on the festive break advertisement were delivered (although sometimes needed prompting, one such thing was the after Boxing Day mulled wine and mince pies) but nothing major was not delivered which would lessen the overall enjoyment of this break. There are a good variety of seasonal returners and newbies, and it is very convivial.
