Lady Lake Hotels with Spa

DO NOT STAY HERE RIGHT NOW IF YOU ARE HEALTH-VULNERABLE OR WILL BE AROUND PEOPLE WHO ARE. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW ADVERTISED MARRIOTT COVID PROTOCOLS. I had to stay in the actual borders of the Villages for work for a three-night visit, and while there are a couple other hotels within the town limits, I chose this one as I am a Bonvoy member. I wish I had gone with one of the independent or other brands in town, as this experience in cleanliness and care was unlike any other Marriott properties I have experienced during the COVID-19 crisis. This is a property in a massive retirement community in which nearly every resident is vulnerable to COVID, and everyone staying in the hotel will come into contact with someone who is. Despite this, the employees themselves are not following Marriott's corporate COVID protocol as posted on the doors of the property. I understand due to Florida's political climate that they cannot, for their safety, engage with aggressive guests who refuse to wear masks -- of which there were many, constantly. When I checked in on a Thursday afternoon, the blonde front desk clerk was wearing her mask over her chin, and I had to ask her to please put it over her nose before handling my credit card and ID. Later during my stay, during one of her shifts, she was not wearing one at all. The rest of the time, about three quarters of hotel personnel -- custodial staff, etc -- were not wearing masks. At one point while walking through the halls, a room was open in which a housekeeper was cleaning a room with no mask, WHILE COUGHING AND SNEEZING. She noticed us, and quickly apologized and put on her mask. I wonder how soon after this another guest was meant to check into the room? The fitness center as well had no signs posted about mask wearing, and the small, poorly ventilated room was constantly in use by multiple people huffing and puffing without wearing masks. The rental conference room downstairs was also being used by some group of businesspeople not following social distancing or mask practices, and they were frequently in the lobby. (The lobby also played Fox News all day.) Because of all of this, I did not feel safe using any common area on the property since my work was bringing me in frequent contact with the health-vulnerable elderly, not to mention that all of the outdoor areas are used by smokers anyways. (Again, this is in the middle of a pandemic that attacks the respiratory system.) The room itself also smelled extremely musty when we checked in, and still smelled that way throughout. There is no housekeeping for stays under four nights, but given what I mentioned above, I was glad for that. The closet also for some reason opens into the bathroom with flimsy doors, so if you unpack into it, any humidity will affect your clothes or whatever is inside. I will also echo other people's reviews about needing to get new room keys frequently. The decor and wall art is depressing and dark as well

I was charged $130 a night for small room, with queen bed. During time of virus outbreak. So I know they were hurting for customers but that’s a Hilton price. Google showed $85 night so I don’t understand why I was charge so much for little I was given. Then the bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have preferred for that kind of price.

Stayed with a friend at the holiday Inn Express in Lady Lake and have to say it was very convenient to where our clinic was held and the surrounding commercial area. It was nice to be able to walk to the shops and restaurants in the Square and have the other amenities close. Check-in was quick and the Desk Clerk couldn't have been nicer. In fact, all of the staff that we encountered were very friendly. The morning breakfast wasn't bad and had plenty of variety. The beds were comfortable. But I did find that the rooms and especially the bathrooms weren't very clean. Our tub had what looked like some sort of heavy dust in it. The shower head where the water comes out was all rusty. There was hair on the floor. When the room was made up the first day, all that was done was the covers were pulled back up on the bed (I questioned if anyone had made up the room) and the towels replaced. Trash (small soap wrapper) was left in the tub area. So I found their attention to detail was laking a bit.

We chose this Comfort Inn to stay in while looking for a home to buy in the area. Our flight from Texas to Florida arrived about 8 hours late, and we landed in Orlando at 1:30 in the morning. We had already called ahead to let them know we'd arrive very late, and they were very courteous. We actually got there at 3:00 after driving in from Orlando. The desk help was friendly and helpful, and we crashed for a short night's sleep. The whole time we were there, the staff was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfasts were very adequate and healthy. Fellow diners were friendly as well. On our return visit to close on our home in Lady Lake, we stayed there again and with our three puppies. Everything went well; they have nice place to walk your dogs to do their business. The desk staff were very pet friendly and even came out and talked to them and petted them. Nice stay. Oh, also the Chile's restaurant next door is excellent. I high recommend their bar area.
