Hotel Francisco de Aguirre

"Traditional hotel very well located, one block from the Plaza de Armas (main square) and one block from the Japanese Gardens. Very close to the main avenue, Francisco de Aguirre. The hotel is very spacious, has a swimming pool in a small garden, I laid down on the lounge chairs to rest, very comfortable. The breakfast was rich and varied enough (coffee, tea, breads, yogurt, cereals, jam, ham, salami, cheese, fruits, juices, eggs, sweet pastries). I didn't have lunch or dinner at the hotel, so I can't comment on that. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom, shower with plenty of water, several clean towels. The only downside: the internet was a bit intermittent, sometimes the signal didn't get through or it went out and you had to reconnect. That is a problem if you are going to work for a long time using the network. But if you're going out all day and just come to the room to read the news or your emails, it doesn't matter much. I did not have the type of plug used in Chile (3-pole) to charge my cell phone and laptop; the front desk had several and lent me one for the duration of my stay. Extra points for that!"

You can ask for coffee at any time. The rooms are cold, with windows facing the hallway; everything looks dated. It's in the city center, so it's not safe in the evening."
