I’ve stayed in hostels before, so I did a lot of research on this one before booking. The online reviews were very positive, particularly regarding safety, which was important to me as a solo traveller. I’m happy to say it lived up to the reputation! The Dorms: Privacy & Layout: I shared a 4-person same-sex dorm with two sets of bunk beds. The room was clean and tidy. The lower beds have curtains for extra privacy, and everything (beds, lockers, and pegs) is clearly numbered. Tech-Friendly: Every bed has double USB ports and one Euro plug socket. Facilities: The room included clean bedding, a towel, a toilet, and a separate basin with soap. There is also a dedicated shower room. The Kitchen & Common Area (Lower Floor): Organisation: The kitchen is brilliant. They have two double fridges (one for floors 1&2, one for 3&4). They provide sticky labels and pens to label your food, which keeps things very orderly. Amenities: FREE tea and coffee are provided, along with all the cutlery, glasses, and plates you need. There are two microwaves, two toasters, and a kettle. Space: Plenty of seating, two large TVs, and loads of sockets/USB chargers for your devices. Breakfast: If you don't pre-book, the breakfast option is €9 a day. Safety & Cleanliness: Security: You need your hostel card to access the lower-floor toilets, which are locked from 12 pm to 7 am for security/cleaning. WiFi: The free WiFi has a good, strong connection throughout the entire hostel. Overall: Reasonably priced and exceptionally well-run. I felt very safe here and would highly recommend it to any solo traveller or skier looking for a base in La Massana.
