Our two baseline criteria: the place has to be safe and clean. This place meets and exceeds this. Super easy to book, find, check in, make a meal, watch a show before bed, take a good hot shower, get solid sleep and check out. If you are looking for more than that, there are other places around, but after reading dozens of reviews we decided the place with nothing that sounded unsafe or gross was best for our needs. It worked out very well. As someone with dynamic mobility issues (sometimes it's fine, sometimes I use a walker or cane or wheelchair), I love a motor lodge style hotel. So easy to park and bring stuff in!! And I love that since that Canadian TV show about the Rose(bud) Motel that people are giving these places more love. It's nice to see them being refurbished instead of bulldozed over. Connects us to the road trip history of this continent in a neat way. When people write it is "right off the highway," it's usually not so literal. If you know the Taconic State Parkway, you know some of the exits are stop sign intersections and this Inn is off one of those. It is super convenient as long as no one is tailgating you as you turn in (or just take the extra time and go the long way around), the beds were too hard for me but perfect for my family member and they are lower so that is excellent for anyone using a wheelchair. Otherwise, the kitchenette was well set up, the water pressure and heat for the shower water was great, the place was neat and tidy, all the linens were clean. Maybe the floor could have used a mopping, but everything was in good working order and I would absolutely stay again. Btw, the exterior may not be quite up to the quality of the rooms themselves, so don't be put off. I especially liked the kitchen set up with a nice big fridge and the two burners and plenty of counter space. The dish soap, drying rack, paper towels, microwave, (oh and in the bathroom the hair dryer) were all quality and very clean. There is a small coffee maker but we didn't try it out. There is a care taker and the reservation confirmation has info on how to get in touch if there are any issues. There is no check in area and no breakfast room or that kind of thing. We didn't happen to see (or hear) anyone else while we were there, just other cars in the lot, which was fine for our visit to the region. There is like a mini split AC/Heater in the room, a folding luggage rest thingy, an open closet with plenty of hangers, a very comfy table and chairs and a nice easy chair in the room and plenty of space. It would be a good place to set up a play mat if you have younger kids who just need a chill afternoon or something. It's five minutes to one of the local diners with a supermarket behind that, plenty of ***** malls close by if you needed something and easy enough to get into several towns for relaxing, sight seeing, or visiting colleges, museums, or historic sights in and around Poughkeepsie.
