A good, small hotel - reasonable rooms, good food, very friendly manager who speaks very good English (the staff the evening before seemed less willing to speak anything other than French!). There is also an excellent but small Champagne producer in the village - but note that they are likely to close this year (2024), so hurry if you wish to buy any of their remaining stock. The hotel manager phone them in advance to ensure they were open.

Lovely peaceful overnight Logis stop on our way back from skiing in Tignes. Excellent value room, breakfast and delicious dinner. We were in the annexe opposite as the hotelier wanted to give us a larger room but when we return (a definite!) we would choose to be in the lovely old main building. A great find.

We had a most restful and relaxing few days in this charming hotel, resting amongst their very pretty gardens situated by the side of a river. The food was lovely, and the service was both kindly and efficient. The host was a fund of information about the local area, and could not do enough for us. The room was very comfortable with lovely comfy sheets and pillows. The bathroom was modern with lots of space and we enjoyed the rain shower. I highly recomnend staying at this hotel

Lovely hotel and gardens. Close to all in the Champagne region but set in a quiet location. Rooms are small, our bathroom had been newly renovated but the restaurant always has delicious food, good service and the champagne is cheap! They are adding a lift which will make access to the rooms easier for older people.

We arrived at the hotel for 4 nights, but were somewhat disappointed by the size of our room. It really was very small. However the bathroom was very nice and had a huge walk in shower, and everything was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed a three course meal each evening, apart from the Saturday evening which included a cheese course. Over the 4 nights we were provided with three different menus with a good selection of local produce. Breakfast was Continental style. There is a very nice bar on the first floor. At the moment it is a bit of a struggle to access the second floor with a case, but a lift is in the process of being installed. The hotel is set in large gardens with plenty of parking space.

We stayed here en route to the UK. For us it is an ideal position to break the journey. Charming village, and a lovely hotel set in a little garden with rivers running around. We had a small functional room, charming professional staff who offered first class service. The hotel is being updated but without disruption to guests.

We stayed here with about 30 other members of a car club over a long weekend. The hotel was a bit off the beaten track but was more the better because of that. Our room was very modern and clean and the only thing missing was the ability to make a cup of tea first thing in the morning. The staff were brilliant throughout, very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We ate in the restaurant every evening and both the choice and quality of the food on offer was excellent. Breakfast was typical French simplicity but equally good and enjoyable. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly return here in the future.

This is a delightful hotel just off the autoroute. The owners, Johann and Lisbeth could not be more welcoming or attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are not particularly large but they are very comfortable and well appointed. The bed was particularly comfy. Note that the bedrooms are on the second floor and, currently, there is no lift. I understand that there are plans to fit one in the future. The hotel is very quiet at night. There is very little traffic passing and at night old can be heard hooting. The gardens are very pleasant, well kept and nice for a stroll. There is also a terrace for drinks and dining if the weather is good. There is a comfortable bar if the weather is not good. The crowning glory of the hotel is the food. There are two table d'hote menus with choices at €27 and €37. The food we ate was really superb and worth much more than we paid. The cooking was accurate. Everything we ate was perfectly cooked and well presented. It is probably the best I have eaten in France recently. The wine list is also well chosen and well priced. Note in particular the local Champagnes for very modest prices. Breakfast is self service but copious and well presented. Of note were the homemade strawberry and apricot jams which were delicious. I cannot wait to return.

We stopped here on our way up from Provence towards Calais. It is a great hotel in which to break your trip. Set in lovely grounds, the hotel is very calm and peaceful and after a long(ish) drive it's delightful to sit in the garden enjoying a well deserved beer. The food in the restaurant is very good and reasonable value, there is also a good choice of wines available. Breakfast is typical continental with a wide variety meats, cheeses and fruit. Our room overlooked the garden and was a reasonable size and very comfortable. The private car park is a good size. Overall, the Clos de Mutigny is an excellent stopover whether you are heading back up to Calais, or on your way down south. We would definitely stay here again.
