This Ritz-Carlton location sitting on Kamogawa and Hagashiyama mountains, is one of the best locations to stay in Kyoto. The architecture is gorgeous on every level as you enter the hotel. You feel transported to a particular place that you will never forget. In addition, the quality of service the Ladies and Gentlemen provides goes above and beyond any other Ritz-Carlton location. Staying at the Kamogawa Executive Suite was an unforgettable experience. Approximately 1350 sq. ft., the suite provides luxury accommodations that exceed the highest expectations of any guest. The bathroom is gorgeous, especially the bathtub, where the wall and bathtub are decorated with sakura flowers. The bed is comfortable, and the living room is quite spacious. One thing I would have loved to see inside this room is a Genkan to place shoes as you enter the suite. Preserving the floor and rug is necessary and educates foreign guests about the importance of doing this. Another aspect that I loved about this place was Mizuki. Every morning I visited it for a Japanese-style breakfast, and it was a fantastic experience. In addition, I went to one of their sushi demonstrations and felt that I had a lifetime supply of sushi. Every bite was delicious, and the chef went above and beyond to make every guest feel special. Please make reservations for kaiseki, tempura, teppanyaki, and of course, sushi during your stay in advance. The spa is also a must if you are staying in this location. It is one of my most relaxing experiences, and the facilities are excellent. As you enter the spa, all the details regarding the walk to the counter or attendant, the changing room, and the pool area are planned quite well, so the guest can feel extra special and disconnected from reality. Finally, I must recognize the Ladies and Gentlemen's hard work and dedication at the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto. Thank Ana and Naoto, for your friendly welcome to the hotel and making things possible during my stay. Chef Tomohiro Goda and his team provided an experience I will never forget at Mizuki. Naoki was friendly and helpful as I researched information. Pablo and Thain were attentive to my needs as I left the hotel and provided a great experience as I checked out. Special thanks to Carlos for leading such a fantastic Ritz-Carlton property in Japan and consideration prior to my stay. The transportation is convenient. Exit 3 of Kyoto Shiyakusho Station on the Tozai Subway Line leads directly to the downstairs of the hotel. Although the facilities are not smart enough, they are well maintained and easy to use. The service is particularly good. The Japanese breakfast set menu is exquisite and delicious, and the buffet breakfast has both Japanese and Western styles, as well as Chinese steamed dumplings and siomai. It is very close to Kamogawa. There are many delicious restaurants in nearby Kiyamachi (mainly Western) and Pontocho (mainly Japanese). The restaurant is relatively late. The three nearby commercial streets are also very lively, and most shops close early. The view from the room is great, as is the view from the breakfast restaurant.

Generally would like to rate 98/100 to this hotel! 👍🏻Location: Just right beside the subway station! Very convenient to travelers who are not familiar with Kyoto, especially after a tiring trip I just want to get to hotel as soon as possible without any hassles if possible. And the plus point is even this hotel is facing street but it’s quiet and no noise, besides that, along the street go straight down, got a lot of food and shops on shijo high street! 👍🏻Service: Service staff are friendly and professional! They are always keen to listen to your requests and answer your inquiries and follow your instructions accordingly! Surprisingly, they even went extra mile to make their customers more comfortable, I can feel they are taking their pride in their jobs which touches me. 👍🏻Cleanliness and Amenities also on point! The hotel is very new btw. The only 2 advices I would like to mention: 1. For my room type, there is difficulty to fit in big luggage, let alone for 2 persons so in that case please book bigger room. 2. Breakfast choice is quite limited, so if you had high expectation of hotel’ breakfast you might won’t be surprised. I still strongly recommend this hotel to people and will definitely visit it again as I really had a pleasant stay there.

This is a wonderful hotel with heartfelt hospitality from arrival to departure. Both the hotel and guest rooms are furnished with elegant interiors and furnishings, allowing you to enjoy a high-quality stay. The manager and other staff members are warm and considerate, and rather than staying at a hotel, I feel a sense of security as if I had just returned to my villa. The rooms are spacious, with spacious furniture and beds, and beautiful tea utensils in the tea room. There is a mini kitchen with a sink, which is nice for rinsing teaware and glasses. All drinks in the room are free. You can look at the miniature garden while having a drink on the sofa. I also liked that there was no TV in the room. The washbasin can be used comfortably with a double sink. There was a steam iron in the closet, which was useful for removing wrinkles from the clothes I took out of my suitcase. There is an open-air bath on the upper floor, which can be rented out. The next day's check-out time is 12:00, so I was able to enjoy the open-air bath in the morning, and it felt great. Recommended for villas in Kyoto.

The place is very good. When I go to the hotel where I am going to Bus from Kyoto Station, although there are 10 stops, there is no need to transfer. The fare is 230 yen per person. It is also very convenient to play Kyoto Station from the hotel when you leave, and the fare is less than 2,000 yen. During the period, the hotel’s front desk called the taxis, and they all came in a few minutes. The place is good. If you want to walk, you can walk to the ”Flower Road”, which seems to be about 3 kilometers. The area should be the most lively place in Kyoto. There are many Chinese people, including the northeastern dialect, Sichuan dialect and Hunan dialect. . . Breakfast can be a pity not to eat in your own room :) There are very few soup pools on the first floor, and it seems to be a private one for two days. There is no view outside the hotel and there is no expectation from the resort. . Clean is basic, overall good!

I was able to use it on a holiday alone. Because it was a land that I spent four years at a university in Kyoto, there was a land insight and this location was very convenient. However, from people who don't know much about Kyoto, you may feel a little far from downtown Kawaramachi. I walked in the morning 々 I had a morning at the bakery in the hall and wandered around Kawaramachi. The hotel lobby is also nice and smelly. I also use the hotel in Osaka Honmachi in the series, but the lobby and appearance are preferred here. I liked the public bath quite a bit. I was impressed by the quiet and Kyoto atmosphere and the size. Since the view from the room is zero, I can't open the window and feel free. So I thought it would be nice to have a little more price.

It took us a while to find this hotel. It is situated in the side streets of Kyoto. A bit far from everything. Not much cafes and restaurants are found within the vicinity of this hotel. The check in process is a bit frustrating especially if you’ve traveled far and walked a long while prior to check in. There is no personnel to assist you. No complimentary bottled water. No convenience store nearby which is odd if you are in Japan. The nearest Family Mart is probably 300m away. The room is planned well. There is ample space to walk around despite having 3 luggages. There is a little tub in the bathroom and electronic toilet.

It was a new hotel, so it was beautiful. Even if it is new, there are many places full of dust, so recently I'm going to clean it myself and bring a bath detergent. I'm glad that's the best! Amenity is substantial. It's an amenity buffet that you can choose near the front desk, so you don't have to choose unnecessary things and don't have to waste. The room has a bath, toilet, and wash basin with ３ independent specifications, so it's easy to use and the breakfast is delicious. I think it's a good hotel to compare the price and service. If this is more expensive, it can't be kind, but ＾＾

The hot springs are very good, although not the best hot spring experience, but the meeting is very memorable, fully aware of the chef's warm cuisine, there are several very well handled delicious! The hotel is old-fashioned, but very tidy, the room is not very big, but everything is enough, there are snack cookies next to the tea bag, if you like, the shopping department on the first floor can buy. Slippers are old-fashioned, feet are a bit difficult to wear, put disposable two pieces of paper insoles for the guests, but just on the shoes is removable, does not mean that the wear will clean up much, interestingly, you will see the guests left in the corridor these white insoles XD room and bath have Skin care products, even a foot and joints of a cream, but unfortunately shopping department has sold out.

We had a delightful few days at this lovely ryokan. Service was super friendly and welcoming. The room was cosy and traditional (futons on floor, with thick, warm duvets). The location is great, just a short walk to a quiet station which will take you to Gion and Pontocho in a few stops. The same train line also links to local routes which will take you to several of the less busy temples. If you are lucky enough to be here for the autumn leaves as we were then you should see Enkoji and Shisen-do (they are next to each other): sublime! Sakura viewing in Kyoto, it was too late to start, I didn't book a machiya, I chose this Japanese-style hotel with hot springs, and I felt pretty good overall. Although the facilities are old, they are well maintained and the breakfast is not very used. The service staff are all a little old, still dedicated and admired. The only drawback is that it is located in a secluded street and the traffic is not convenient. Fortunately, behind the house is the Kamo River in Kyoto, with cherry blossoms in full bloom, a worthwhile trip!

We only use the hotel to sleep (I think everyone does that), but I have nothing to complain! Extremely careful staff, room cleaning ok, quiet environment ...They do not have parking, but reserve vacation in a nearby parking (good close, about 5 minutes walking), we were with a little child and it was no spark! When they arrived, they gave us a map and the number of the vacant reserved, very organized!

The breakfast is really quite simple. The room size is the smallest of my trip to Japan. It is 3 stops from Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The station is about 200 meters away from the hotel. There is a washing and drying machine. It is not clear whether it is every floor. Yes, there are only two on the floor where I live, and I might have to queue up.

We enjoyed our stay at the Screen. The rooms are quite big, as there is a bedroom area and a living space with a big screen. We order dinner and breakfast to the room and they were delicious! We got new slippers every day as well as clean pjs. The hotel isn't too far from the cool area in Kyoto, though a cab is needed. On the negative side, the room is a tad dark, the bathroom doesn't have a shower fan so it takes a while for the mirror to clear up, the restaurant was almost empty but they wouldn't let us sit on a coach to enjoy drinks (we took a cab, though, and went to Bar K6, which was awesome.. state of art drinks!), and the staff, though super nice, didn't have good English. I think it's a very decent option and you get value for the price.

There are relatively fewer people, and it has more ancient atmosphere and old house decoration. It is very suitable and brings more closeness to the house with heavy historical traces, like an old house in the country. The books on the shelf can be browsed at will. Very satisfied, the room is very large, it is rare in Kyoto, there is a Japanese tatami, it is very comfortable to rest when you are tired; the location is good, you can walk to the Gion, Ping An Shen Palace, Nanchan Temple, etc.; The traffic is very convenient. It is the bus station. It can be reached in all directions by 201,202,203 and 206, not far from the subway. It is very clean and quiet. It is in a residential area and faces a small temple.
