Sora Niwa Terrace Kyoto Reviews

This is my second stay at this onsen hotel, and I love it! You can enjoy a deep hot spring bath, and the Kamo River is right downstairs. It's located in the Shijo Kawaramachi shopping district, making dining, shopping, and transportation incredibly convenient! Plus, it's only 1.2 km from Yasaka Shrine.

Clean room with warm indirect lighting ...Staff speak various languages ... English, Korean, Chinese.

The hotel is located right next to a subway exit. There are many restaurants and shops with various brands nearby. The onsen is good; they swap the men's and women's baths daily, and one of them offers a beautiful view of the river. In the evening, you can relax at the rooftop bar. The drink selection is small, but it's a nice place.

Excellent location in Central Kyoto, right in the heart of shopping district, plenty of food options, and a short walk to Gion on the East. Very near to Hankyu train station that goes to Osaka Umeda. Staff were so friendly, always smiling and ready to assist. Rooms on the smaller side, not sure if it's the layout that made it feel more cramped, but Japan hotel rooms are generally like that. Best thing about this hotel is the open air natural hot spring! Amazing view of the mountains and you can even see Kiyomizu Dera temple in the distance. The water temperature was also not burning hot like some other public baths. There are complimentary drinks (including alcohol) on the rooftop terrace everyday from 4.30 to 6pm. Also free drinks from coffee machine all day in the lounge. I did not take hotel breakfast as I saw it is only simple bento box instead of buffet, so you can get better food outside.

Excellent location. Beautiful room. There's a wonderful observation deck with a bar on the top floor.

The room is tiny, and you can't even lay a 29-inch suitcase flat. However, the room's cleanliness is good, and disposable toiletries like toothbrushes are replenished daily. Soundproofing is also decent. On the top floor, you can get a free drink or a glass of wine daily and even enjoy a foot bath. There's also a free hot spring bath on the ninth floor.

The room was a bit small, but my overall experience was fantastic! The service was exceptionally good, and the hot springs and rooftop were absolutely amazing. Plus, there was free ice cream!

A beautiful hotel with cosy rooms, fabulous amenities (onsen, drinks and snacks on reception level, afternoon beverage on the roof, and even onsen coffee in the mornings). I loved enjoying the rooftop foot spa any change i could get. The location was very convenient especially when taking the Privace train to Osaka afterwards. I would definitely stay here again and loved my stay.

This hotel is absolutely wonderful! Tucked away in a bustling part of Kyoto, it surprisingly offers a peaceful retreat. The top-floor bar has a really stylish design and the night views are absolutely stunning. Our king room was spacious and comfortable, and a soak in the bathtub melted away all our travel fatigue. Staying here with my partner, we really got to experience Kyoto's relaxed pace – it was incredibly romantic!

The hotel's location is convenient. Although the room was small, it was clean. Since we were out all day, the small room wasn't an issue. One large suitcase was fine, but two would have been a struggle. My only complaint is the breakfast. I was surprised to find it was just a boxed meal (one day Japanese, one day Western), and the dining area was tiny, right next to check-in. The price difference between rooms with and without breakfast was about ¥200 per person, which feels like a rip-off for what you get. I barely ate any of it. There are plenty of coffee shops (with breakfast options) and good bakeries right outside the hotel. If you have any expectations for breakfast, I'd really advise against wasting your money on it here.

The welcome drink on the rooftop was lovely, with a foot bath and great views of Kyoto – a truly enjoyable experience. They even provided a pastry as a birthday gift! The spacious bathroom had two different types of baths to enjoy, and the high-quality hairdryer left my hair feeling smooth and silky.

The hotel's location is excellent. The rooms are a bit small but well-appointed with great attention to detail. The front desk staff is friendly, and there's complimentary coffee, ice cream, and more in the lobby. There's also a bar on the rooftop with great views of Kyoto. It's very convenient for getting around, and the hot spring is a nice bonus. I would definitely choose this hotel again. Highly recommended!

The views are amazing, especially from the rooftop. It's also super convenient for getting around, no matter where you're headed. I'd definitely stay here again! Oh, and the hot springs are absolutely fantastic 👍🏻

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was! The attention to detail is truly exceptional, and the service is incredibly warm and welcoming. The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable. They also have a rooftop open-air bar where you can soak your feet while enjoying the scenery and a drink – it's absolutely wonderful, especially in the dead of winter. Plus, there's an outdoor hot spring, which is very clean and offers great views. They provide complimentary coffee, matcha, hot chocolate, sparkling drinks, and cold beverages, all available for unlimited consumption every day. I highly recommend the hot chocolate with ice cubes; it's so rich and delicious. The hotel's location is superb. Takashimaya is right outside, and there are tons of great restaurants nearby. It's also very close to all the major attractions. Aside from the room being a bit small, everything else was absolutely perfect. I'll definitely choose to stay here again whenever I visit Kyoto.
