Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo

Just behind Kyoto train station, super easy to go around Kyoto spots. All staffs are nice and professional. Especially the gentleman who work at front door, he speaks very good english and super helpful.

Wonderful hotel, close to the station and quite spacious. Hotel is quite cheap as well, compared to other hotels nearby. Railway is nearby, may affect light sleeper. Hotel buffet is a little more expensive and others.

Everything was fine until the end. In comparison to other hotels I stayed at throughout my trip, this one is cleaner and more spacious. It's close to Tokyo Station, so it's easy to get to other areas, even if it took me quite a while to figure out their operation and routes. The hotel will be cleaned one time every three days. So, generally, it will not be cleaned throughout your stay. However, you can request that they change the towels every day. The check-in and check-out processes were straightforward, however the machine did not accept my Visa card - this is the only site in Japan that did. The hotel also helped you store your belongings before and after check-in/out. However, I was discriminated against by one of the hotel's employees when sending the luggage after checkout. Before me, he stayed near the check-in/checkout machine, assisting a Japanese couple with the checkout procedures and handling the bags. So I waited, thinking he also approached me to assist. However, after assisting the couples, he did not approach me and came back to the counter. Then I beckoned him to his assistance. Instead, he hailed me with his fingertips to come over his counter, rather say anything like “Please come over the counter to do the procedure”. It shocked me. Furthermore, the way he handled my luggage request was really unpleasant. When I asked for his name because I didn't see it on his tag, he became more agitated. So that is why I requested him to write his name on the receipt card. How is it possible for him to treat people so differently? Should Japanese people be treated more respectfully under the hotel's policy? After my interaction with him, all of my positive feelings about the hotel vanished.

The Miyako Inn is directly at the station in Kyōto. From outside it looked a bit old but inside it’s very nice. The room was quite big in comparison to others I’ve been to also the bathroom had a bigger tub. You have a USB (A and C) directly at the bed which is super convenient. A water boiler with coffee and tee and also two bottles of is waiting for you.

This is a terrible hotel that I had ever encountered in Japan. First of all, the manager and the staff Mr 召尾 and Mr 福嶋 is not suitable to be in the front counter, first, their English level is so bad and their attitudes towards customer was bad. Maybe, they do not like Asian customers or They may serve other westerners more friendly. But I just found that I couldn't see any smile or welcoming from any of the staff. The room is facing a nosy street and super close to walking pathway and at night time you can hear people laughing on the street and in the morning, you will be woke up by large trucks! I found bugs on the bed after I had been bitten a couple of times. As you can see them on my pictures New bed sheet (i supposed) had been found dirty marks. I think this hotel only like to serve people in big group as during breakfast time, the breakfast area is packed with many people! Very noisy place! If I can give zero mark, I would give this hotel zero!

Very nice, spacious and clean hotel. Location is opposite to Kyoto JR station. Very convenient.

This ryokan is simply too lively! It’s a pity we were there a bit too early coz the garden will be so beautiful in full bloom! The staff are friendly and nice! Service is superb! But when come to value for money, their sister hotel Tenyu is of better and greatest value with a slight higher price but worth it. However they are totally different type of ambience and feel. For ryokan experience, this is no doubt better choice

We ordered 2 rooms, and the temperature of both rooms was not consistent... It kept shifting from lava hot to lukewarm, and this is unacceptable.

Self-checkin machine user friendly. Room very spacious for 2 persons with good hygiene. No free coffee bags in room.
