After work in Nagoya, I headed to Kyoto for a solo trip. Since I was only there for a night's sleep and I was an inbound tourist, I couldn't afford a fancy hotel, so I booked my first hotel primarily based on price and location.
I'm usually very picky about hotels, so I checked the separate bathroom and toilet, checked the cleanliness of the room, and checked the photos, and decided on this one because it looked good. However, I was surprised to find that check-in was unattended and I had to enter my own PIN number. There was a half-empty bottle of cola on the counter that looked like the front desk... And a bath towel carelessly discarded on the floor in front of the shared washing machine, visible at the back of the front desk...

When I stay in a hotel, I usually get hives when I get into bed because of the house dust on the bed sheets. Since I couldn't take a bath and had nothing to do, I lay in bed sideways playing with my phone, and then half of my face broke out in hives on my under-eye bags, temples, nose, and chin. That was also really gross and made me feel awful.
I could hardly sleep, and I couldn't conserve my energy.
After checking out, I only saw one thing I wanted to see and took the 3pm Shinkansen back home.
I will never stay here again, and I don't recommend it either.
