Nazuna Kyoto Nijo-jo

It was our 1 year wedding anniversary & 2022 year end vacation, and it was the right choice to us to spend the day in nazuna kyoto nijojo. Peaceful and beautiful place and super kind staffs. Breakfast was dynamic we could choose whether beef or fish, both was amazing. Korean speaking staff was also very helpful and kind too. Hope to revisit someday!

An absolutely wonderful hotel stay that is really more of an experience than just a place to lodge for the night. Every detail is well-thought, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful, and you will be treated like royalty. We stayed in the Matcha room; the garden and outdoor private tub were absolutely amazing! Thank you ,Nazuna, for making our stay a great experience.

Such a beautiful location and rooms. Each room is uniquely its own with a distinct layout and presentation. The rooms provided a quite little escape that maintained the cultural heritage of the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. This will be a stay you will remember for quite some time.

Nazuna is a heavenly stay and is an experience of its own in Kyoto. This is my second time staying and all of the rooms are perfection. I really enjoyed eating breakfast, and having them cook it in front of me. I had a great conversation with the woman serving me. The whole staff at Nazuna were incredible and when arriving extremely late, they had a small dinner prepared for me because they knew I had a long travel day.

Beautiful Ryokan, the staff were just amazing, making us feel right at home. We had dinner and breakfast which were outstanding, enjoyed a massage in our room, and relaxed like nowhere else during our trip to Japan. If you can, spend at least one night here. You won't regret it. Special mention to Akiko and Mari, who noticed we love Japanese sweets and gifted us a special selection of their favorites. Thank you!

It was an amazing night staying at Nazuna! The staff were extremely helpful and paid great attention to our needs. The outdoor bathtub was a unique experience as well. We added a sukiyaki dinner which was one of the best sukiyaki we had! Highly recommended!

Where do I begin? Having had stayed in a traditional ryokan (in Hakone) before, this trip was with my husband, son and his wife (two different rooms - Genmaicha and Houjicha) so, understanding the my husband and son are larger American men, I felt that we needed a more westernized vibe! I booked Nazuna Nijojo and am so happy we did!!! Sitting on the floor an an extended period of time is problematic for this group, so dinner and breakfast at the hearth was perfect. I was worried that it would not be enough food for the boys, but i was mistaken. Dinner and breakfast was SO much! And it was so delicious! We opted for Kyoto Sukiyaki (done properly) for dinner was incredible. I must add, that in the States, I will rarely eat raw egg, but here, it was amazing. It adds a certain kind of richness to the meat that is like not other. Breakfast was delectable and quite filling after the amazing dinner. Both party's (in separate rooms :)) enjoyed the private onsen prior to dinner... after dinner and before breakfast. It was cold out (February) but was amazing in the bath! So private and so relaxing. Understand that water is not from a hot spring - but it was still amazing. The staff at the ryokan was so gracious and kind. They were very accommodating and did hold our luggage while we visited Nijo Castle prior to check-in. Time went by so fast! I wish we would have another another day to relax, but Japan has us moving ahead to our next adventure.

This has been our favorite place we've stayed at in Japan! The beds were so comfortable, everything is beautiful and it's so peaceful. I wish we could stay longer! The private onsen was amazing I loved the garden area. The food and service were also amazing. Will 1000% come back on our next trip!
