I loved the receiving area; The shared space for dining area, lounging and bar area - as well as the patio/deck area. The rooms are creatively done with pleasant seasonal themes, and elements of nature. What I did not appreciate were the food portions versus the price-tags. Examples: 1. The chakalaka serving always seemed as though one only got a single heaped spoonful on the plate (serving bowl). 2. On the first night there I asked for sweet potato as my side and was told they have run out, so I was given butternut and when I asked when they'd re-stock I wasn't even given a promising response. 3. My colleague asked for juice and we were told there is none available, just carbonated drinks, without any promise of re-stocking soon. 4. Instead of the typical carbonated drink options they offered I asked for Dry Lemon and was denied, even though I could see some cans of it plainly through the glass bar-fridge. On the second night, I insisted on the Dry Lemon drinks and highlighted the other disappointments and only then was given the cans of the preferred drink. I enjoyed the physical stay in terms of comfortability and amenities, but the matter of food service and customer-focus can be improved. Customer feedback needs to be prioritised.

The apartment was great, and the service was good. The only thing not likeable about the place is that their online information does not state that kids are not allowed. It actually requires you to insert the number and age of the kids to be included. It would be nice if the could update on the online booking system as well to avoid being inconvenienced.

A stunning place - I read many reviews but did not expect what I saw. Beautiful rooms and self-catering. Attention to detail on colour coordination, wardrobe and cutlery and crockery. Sarah's presentation of the place makes one want to extend their stay. Our family loved the personalised room names and the comfortable patio set. Let us talk safety - top. And the bar and dining area is stunning. Suggestion: Breakfast could be better especially because it is ala carte. We felt a bit pushed to eat what we did not want to eat as the option for the day was an omelette. Eggs are quick to prepare, it would be great to allow guest to choose how they would like their eggs. We are pescatarians, but we did not like the fact that our omelette had vegetables i.e. baby marrow and other. We would have preferred just mushrooms, onions, tom and cheese. The béchamel sauce in the egg is a big NO for some as it dilutes the egg taste. My suggestion on breakfast is offer something that is most liked at hotels and restaurant: Cereal: rice crisps, all bran and muesli and yoghurt. Eggs - allow guests to choose from at least 2 options. Fruits: solid / fruit salad which you can also use as a smoothie and freeze to avoid wastage. Overall, I would visit Kgarebana again. In fact, my family and I will be returning
