Howard Johnson Flower City Hotel Kunming

This hotel isn't great. For over 400, I was surprised when I entered the room – the decor must be from 10 years ago. It's really not good, barely worth 200 at most, maybe 200 at most.

This is my third time in Kunming and my third stay at this hotel. I keep coming back because everything about it is just perfect. The complimentary fruit in the room is always fresh and sweet. The hotel's location is also super convenient, not far from the airport or any of Kunming's attractions. This time, I chose the two-bedroom suite and it definitely lived up to expectations. I'll continue to be a loyal guest!

This hotel is excellent! It's very convenient for getting around, and they offer free airport pickup. The facilities are comprehensive, the room was clean, and check-in was a breeze. They even have a study room, which was great for the kids to do their homework – both diligent and thoughtful! The housekeepers, dressed in traditional ethnic attire, were all wonderful. They organized activities for the children, who absolutely loved it. The Kunming food recommendations they gave us were also fantastic and trustworthy. Highly recommended!

The hotel's exterior is striking, with two buildings embracing each other that look stunning when lit up at night. I only discovered in the basement parking that the hotel has several lobbies for check-in, all with a floral theme. I asked a lovely lady at the front desk, and she told me it was the Orchid Lobby. Amber He Yanping, one of the front desk staff, who was wearing traditional attire, was beautiful and incredibly helpful. She was smiling from check-in to check-out, enthusiastically recommending the hotel's parent-child activities, taking the kids to the summer study room, and engaging them in various family activities. The children all had a fantastic time! She even took them on a scavenger hunt for ice cream and walked us to the lobby exit at check-out. The boss really needs to give her a bonus, haha! Unfortunately, our schedule was tight this trip, and the kids' play area and garden closed at 6 PM, so we didn't get to experience them. It would be great if they could stay open later. We'll just have to come back another time!

Extremely satisfied with our stay! We booked a VR room, and two staff members from housekeeping came to help set it up and teach our kids how to use it. The children absolutely loved it! Plus, there's a huge museum right downstairs from the hotel.

This hotel is incredibly thoughtful. They helped us with a late check-out and even have a dedicated homework room for kids, which is fantastic for families traveling with children. It solved the problem of the room being too dim for my child to do homework or crafts. We were a bit rushed this time so we couldn't participate in the activities, but we'll definitely try to next time. A special thanks to the hotel butler; their service was excellent and they were very patient with the kids.

Our stay was fantastic! Our personal butler was incredibly attentive throughout, preparing everything we needed in advance and responding to our requests super quickly. Their meticulous and thoughtful service truly warmed our hearts. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was impeccable. We'll definitely choose this place again for our next stay!

Excellent value for money, the hotel stay was fantastic, and we even received complimentary fruit in our room.
