My daughter like the room so much. The Kumamon theme room is big. Not recommended to take standard queen room as the room superb small for family with a kid.

Kumamoto is Kumamon's hometown, and the hotel is filled with Kumamon-themed elements. Check-in was very convenient, and the hotel offers great value for money. Kumamoto is also quite a retro city, with a very old-school feel. My trip was a bit rushed, so there were many places I didn't get to see, but the hotel was excellent.

This was my second stay here. The room is really only suitable for one person; it would be quite cramped for two. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the shopping street. It's also very close to the Kumamoto City tram station, and a taxi to Kumamoto Station isn't expensive, costing around 1200 yen. In the distance, outside the window, you can see a park, which looks especially beautiful in the morning.

Overall, a great experience with good value for money. There's a shopping mall right next door, and plenty of restaurants within a few hundred meters, like Katsuretsu Tei and Isomaru Suisan. The soundproofing is good; it might also be that the neighbors were quiet, as I didn't hear any noise. The window soundproofing was also excellent. The Kumamon themed room was super cute and I was very satisfied!

Parking on site for smaller cars, needed to park at a multi level car park. After hotel affiliation discount, we paid 2600¥ instead of 3600¥ for parking over 2 nights, on Sat/Sun, which was reasonable. Suggest drive to side of hotel building, to load or unload before heading to the multi storey car park.

Excellent hotel! Staffs are helpful and friendly. Hotel is very clean and well maintained. It worths the money and definitely will stay here again when next visit.

Nice location. Within walking distance to shopping street with many restaurants, and department store. Soft comfortable bed. My room was decorated with Kumamon, so everything was very cute. Amenties are available as needed (self-collected at the lobby). The breakfast was nice, although the curry was a little bit too salty.

Facilities: The room wasn't huge, but it had everything we needed. Cleanliness: Very clean, no hidden dusty spots. Service: The service was excellent. I accidentally booked a smoking room, but the front desk immediately switched us to a non-smoking one when I mentioned it. Environment: The area was quite quiet, even though it's right near the bustling Kamitori and Shimotori arcade, which has plenty of dining and shopping options. Location: It's a bit of a distance from Kumamoto Station. The closest tram stop is Karashimacho, and it's just across the street from the Sakuramachi Bus Terminal.

When I first arrived in Mitsui Garden, the staff already showed me great attitude - letting me use their lounge for free while I needed to wait for my check in time at 3pm. During my stay, all staff showed their professional and nice services. The best part came from my own room - Kumamon standard queen room. Everything was enough - the size, the atmosphere, the decoration, THE CUTE BATHROOM - made me feel like home immediately. Very close to Sakura Machi Kumamoto Shopping centre and Bus station, and Kumamoto Castle, Sakuranobaba Jousaien… all were in walking distance. Very friendly in all the ways possible I should say. 10000000/10 👏

Pros: 1. The location is super convenient, right next to the bus terminal and a shopping street, easy to find along the road. 2. The room layout is incredibly well-designed. It has high ceilings, a perfectly square shape, and the bed is against the wall, facing a large, openable window. There's a good distance from the building opposite, making for excellent space planning. Anyone who frequently stays in Japanese hotels will understand what I mean – this is a big plus! 3. The hotel clearly follows traditional hotel procedures, which are very detailed. The staff provided service with a smile, and there was a local Japanese staff member who, despite speaking broken Mandarin, genuinely tried to offer Chinese service, which was really impressive. 4. The room was very clean, free of any odd smells or noise, and the bedding was super comfortable. I finally got a good night's sleep on my last night in Kumamoto. Cons: 1. I have to complain about the washbasin; it's too small. It's difficult for anyone with a lot of cosmetics to spread them out, and items tend to fall off easily. Initially, looking at the hotel pictures and the lobby, I thought it was an old hotel and didn't have high expectations, especially thinking a small room might not be great. But it turned out to be really good! I had stayed at another hotel previously, and this one is significantly better by comparison. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

The hotel’s location is extremely convenient, with easy walking access to Kumamoto Castle, shopping areas, 7-11, the bus station and tram station connecting to Kumamoto JR Station. The hotel staffs are very polite and helpful. The room is clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed and a full set of amenities provided for a pleasant stay.

Nice to have a Kukumon bear theme room. We got a plastic folder to take away when we check out. Breakfast is good too

For the amount we paid, it was really a good place to stay and an amazing experience! Top 3 experiences: 1. We stayed in the Kumamon room and it was so adorable! It was Kuamamon themed and had a giant Kuamamon plushie which kept us company during our stay. 2. There was a really nice gentleman working at the car park who went out of his way to help us. For instance, he walked/ ran the few hundred meters to show us the way to the nearest carpark we could park at. I had also left my coffee behind in the lobby after checking in, but he saw it and remembered it was me who was holding onto the coffee, and got the hotel staff to keep it for me. The moment he saw me in the lobby after, he immediately told me my coffee was kept for me. I was very touched because he did not need to do any of that. Sadly, I didn't see him before I left or I would have gotten his name. 3. Free postcards that the hotel staff would mail for you! It was nice receiving it about a few weeks after the trip; brought back some good memories! Absolutely would recommend staying at Mitsui Garden Kumamoto if you have the chance!
