I consider myself fairly critical when it comes to hospitality, but there is literally nothing bad I can say about Sorobon!! The staff is super friendly and attentive. Accommodations are clean and beautiful and the food is out of this world!! Fantastic location and a windsurfer’s paradise!

Wonderful time here again. So relaxed and casual but also great food, windsurfing and relaxing. Must mention Pleun, she was EXCEPTIONAL for the whole 2 weeks we were there. She is a lovely person and a very good waitress. Attention, patient, caring and nothing is too much trouble. Always happy, polite and a very hard worker! One evening she was clearing all the beds, pillows, towels and empty dishes, all on her own until it was dark. We saw her being very kind to an older couple who had mobility issues, making sure they were sat near what they needed. She took time to listen and understand what they needed. Really do think you are lucky to have such a hardworking and diligent employee. Thank you for a great holiday!

My Sorobon beach experience was very awful, as I am sure of everyone else who attended the water to swim. Windsurfing people behavior is out of cottage, they outward nasty and obnoxious. In essence they not allowed people to swim in the ocean, and trying to run them over, or pretend that they will to scare the. Not going there, if you like to swim in the ocean near the beach.

Solid 4.5 Stars... with an asterisk. Writing as an American travelling with 2 small kids having been to Bonaire before and other resorts in the Caribbean. The good: You cannot beat the location and grounds. They maintain the grounds beautifully, the resort is safe and clean, the beach is amazing. There are plenty of chairs and cabanas, and we felt completely safe leaving our stuff out to spend hours in the water. The staff is friendly, they speak many languages, and they were so sweet to our kids. The rooms are clean, the housekeepers are lovely about coming at a different time to accomodate nap time. The kitchenettes in the rooms are stocked with sufficient pots and pans to make simple meals on the cook top - pasta, stir fry, grilled cheese, tacos, scrambled eggs, etc. The unexpected: a significant number of people were smoking cigarettes. Everyone is great about keeping the butts to the trash and ash trays, but you cannot avoid the smoke - on the beach or in the restaurant. There is a DJ that starts spinning 90BPM dance music starting around 10:30/11am to 4-ish pm. It isn't overwhelmingly loud or anything, but it definitely sets a tone. You need to grab a cabana early because the resort is open to the public. They are not closed grounds and many people from cruise ships or Kralendijk come on day pass to hang. There is only one restaurant on the grounds, and it is fancy-ish. If by design or language barrier, they cannot make adjustments to the menu items (no microgreens on my eggs, please - still comes with microgreens) nor go off menu AT ALL (could not make a cheese toastie even through they have bread and sliced cheese). The food is fresh, and we never had a bad meal. Even breakfast is served off a menu - not a buffet like many other resorts. It seemed like they didn't quite know if they wanted to cater to the cruise crowd, Europeans, Americans, etc. Not related to Sorobon directly, but all other restaurants on the bay close at 5/5:30, so the Reef Bar is the only dinner option in walking distance. We would ABSOLUTELY return.... but with the expectation that I would likely be cooking most of my meals in the room.

If you break a vacation down to fundamentals—location, comfort, energy, and experience—Sorobon Beach Resort absolutely nails the stack. Clean? Immaculate. Everything feels intentional, calm, and engineered for relaxation. Service? Very good—warm, attentive, and efficient without hovering. Exactly how hospitality should scale. You want optional upgrades to your human operating system? • Massages on-site reset both body and mind. • Windsurfing gear rentals are top-tier—this is a global hotspot, and it shows. • The beach conditions are basically a physics demo of why this place works. Breakfast is excellent—fresh, generous, and energizing enough to fuel a full day of wind, water, or exploration. Dinner wines? Surprisingly strong selection. Thoughtful, well-curated, and genuinely very good. One non-negotiable recommendation: leave the beach—briefly. Book an excursion, and snorkel or dive. The underwater world here is next-level: clean reefs, vivid life, zero noise. It’s perspective-shifting. Bottom line: Sorobon Beach Resort isn’t flashy. It’s optimized. And optimization, done right, feels like luxury.

We have been to Bonaire previously, so we knew we just wanted to relax and let our 18-yr old try some snorkeling. We were able to get a beach bed and 2 chairs - I think each chair was $20 and the bed was $40. They came with towels and a bottle of water for each one (bed was a large bottle of water for 2 people) and was under a palapa. It wasn't crowded at all. Service was a bit hard - we were told to grab where we wanted to lounge and they'd be by to open tab, give water, towels. We waited about 45 minutes before anyone even stopped by. (they DO take American Express, FYI). But, again, it wasn't too crowded, and we were chilling. Husband & 18-yr old daughter grabbed snorkel stuff & headed out - they had to walk pretty far into the water - VERY SHALLOW!! but, they did see some fish and had a great time! Son (16) and I just chilled under the palapa as it was HOT out! We did try the Royal Club Cassis soda drink - DELICIOUS!!! Sodas were ~$4 each. We ordered some little bites - tzatziki and bread, and 2 orders of potstickers (6 on each plate), i think each bite plate was ~$12. They were decent. Wouldn't rush back for the bites, but held us over as it was close to lunchtime. We stayed for about 3 hours. If we did another cruise that went to Bonaire, we would definitely do this again as it was super relaxing. Service was so-so - my 16-yr old mentioned that all the servers were young, blond ladies - so he enjoyed it! ;-) We wanted to drive to the Cadushy Distillery after this, so we packed up & headed to Rincon. This seemed GREAT for little kids as Bonaire is otherwise pretty rocky & wavy ... the water looked super calm and it was very shallow for quite a ways out.

Sorobon Resort in Bonaire exceeded our expectation and provided our family of four with a super island experience in an environment full of wilderness. From the moment you arrive time slows down and nature takes the stage. The location is unbeatable – right on the amazing Lac Bay with its shallow, crystal-clear waters and gentle breeze. It’s ideal for windsurfing (lessons are available right on site), but also perfect for simply relaxing in the warm water. The private beach is quiet, clean, and equipped with shaded loungers. The accommodations are spacious enough and charming, bringing together true island vibes with modern comfort. Our « beach house » was just steps from the water and had everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchenette and a comfy bed. The fold out sofa is ok for kids but may be a little light weight for teenagers. What sets Sorobon apart is the laid-back atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful, always available without being intrusive. We also loved the yoga sessions – a perfect addition to the tranquil setting. Sorobon Resort isn’t your typical commercial hotel – and that’s what makes it special. If you stay a few days, a car rental is a must as the resort is a 15 min drive from the city center.

We are staying at Sorobon Resort in Bonaire. We have only been here 3 days and everything is so wonderful I just had to give it a review now. We came here many times in the past and it got so bad that we stopped staying here. We heard that they completely redid everything so we decided to give it a try. We are so delighted about all of the changes- the bungalows completely upgraded, the lounge chairs and covered beds have new cushions, and an improved restaurant. The food is incredible with a flair in its presentation. One of the best things are the staff. From the moment we walked in everyone was so kind and helpful. I want to recognize one person in particular. His name is Ellis and he is spectacular in everything he does. He really helped us with a problem we had with the lounge beds. He also works in the restaurant. From the first time we met him he has been so kind, helpful and personable. He is everything I would want in an employee. I would highly recommend the Sorobon Beach Resort for anyone coming to Bonaire.

Best location to be right on the water and great access to surfing. Staff are friendly and happy to help with any needs. Not too far from town. Hotel has been massively improved over the years. Overall best place to stay if you love surfing and having fun.
