Homi Breeze at Sutera Avenue

I always stay at this hotel whenever I come to KK. The location is great and super convenient … It’s really comfortable and makes my stay in KK so much easier and enjoyable!

The hotel is beautiful, truly beautiful — but unfortunately, it’s not clean. Even for someone who doesn’t have OCD, I found the place quite dirty. The carpet is very filthy, and I didn’t feel comfortable praying on such a dirty floor. The sofa or chairs by the side were stained and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned properly. Even the cushions were dirty. It’s such a shame because the hotel itself is actually very nice — just poorly maintained. The walls had black marks and stains, which were quite unpleasant. When I first entered the room, I even noticed hair on the carpet, probably because it wasn’t vacuumed properly. The noises from outside the room were also very noticeable and quite disturbing. For me, if the cleanliness is improved or upgraded, I’d definitely come back. But if not — thank you, next. Ps: I forgot to take any photos as I spent most of my time outside the hotel.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent stay at your property in Kota Kinabalu, which was unfortunately marked by repeated electrical failures, poor sleep conditions, and an overall lack of comfort. We checked in around 9:20 PM. At approximately 10:30 PM, after switching off the lights and preparing to sleep, I heard unusual sounds. Upon checking, I discovered that the emergency light had turned on and the air-conditioning was no longer functioning. I immediately contacted your service number and requested urgent assistance. While waiting, I noticed that the ceiling manhole near our room entrance was partly open, revealing an NCB switch board. Around 11:00 PM, a technician arrived and spent some time restoring the power. When asked about the cause and whether it might recur, he explained that the door card had not been properly placed. This explanation was confusing, as the power had initially turned on without issue. After the technician left, we were too exhausted and fell asleep—only to be awakened later by extreme heat, lack of ventilation, and a severe headache. It was then that I realized the power had tripped again, though I do not know exactly when it occurred. This second outage was not only inconvenient but physically distressing. Due to the discomfort and lack of sleep, we were forced to check out early at around 5:00 AM and head directly to the airport. Additionally, I would like to highlight the poor condition of the mattresses provided. We ended up laying blankets directly on the raised tatami platform and pushed the three mattresses aside, as they were in unacceptable condition and unsuitable for rest. This experience was far below expectations and not reflective of the standards your guests deserve. I urge your team to investigate these issues thoroughly and take corrective measures to ensure future guests are not subjected to similar discomfort and safety concerns.

Its was nice, could improve in terms of cleanliness but overall is good
