THE CITYINN HOTEL

I stayed at this hotel for three nights during my trip to Kota Kinabalu, and the overall experience was truly fantastic. The room was spotless, the environment was very tidy, and the bedding was comfortable—making for a super relaxing stay. The view from the room was incredible; you could see the ocean right outside the window, and watching the sunset in the evening was pure magic. What touched me the most was what happened after check-out. I accidentally left my DJI camera in the room. As soon as I realized it was missing, I contacted the hotel. The staff were quick to respond and incredibly warm and helpful. After verifying the item, they offered to ship it back to me on their own initiative and even politely declined my tip/reward. Losing a camera while traveling is really panic-inducing, so having such a reliable team handle it gave me total peace of mind. From the accommodation itself to the staff's sense of responsibility, everything was beyond reproach. This hotel truly made my trip a memorable one. I will definitely choose to stay here again the next time I visit Kota Kinabalu.

The hotel is excellent, and the location is great. The sea-view room offers direct views of the sunset and evening glow. The front desk service is also very good. The Kinabalu Coffee shop right across from the hotel is the best choice.

THE CITYINN HOTEL is brand new, with a simple yet exquisite design. I booked a sea-view room and the scenery was lovely. The hotel's location is excellent, with many food options nearby. Many of my compatriots were also staying at THE CITYINN HOTEL. THE CITYINN HOTEL has its own parking garage, though it's not cheap.

The location is excellent, surrounded by delicious food and various photo-worthy spots. Right next to it is the durian street under the flyover, and at the doorstep, you'll find Bak Kut Teh and various delightful tea houses and chicken rice stalls. The jetty is just a 10-minute walk away.

I recently stayed at THE CITYINN HOTEL in Kota Kinabalu city center. The location is super convenient, right next to Gaya Street, so it's easy to go shopping and find food. KK Garden Seafood is just downstairs and the food was great; after dinner, I could head straight back to my room to rest. The city hall is also nearby, which adds to the sense of safety. It takes about twenty minutes to walk to the pier, which is a bit of a distance but not too far. The sea view from the window was nice. However, the soundproofing of the hotel is quite poor; motorcycle noise from downstairs at night was really loud and affected my sleep. There was also no table in the room, so nowhere to put my belongings, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, the location is good, but the hardware details need improvement.

I'm writing this review for my fellow Koreans! The cleanliness gets a 4 out of 5 because I saw a few strands of hair (even more expensive hotels have hair, unfortunately ㅠ), but for around 80,000 won a night with breakfast included, it's very affordable. Everything is brand new, and the location is great. I recommend it! The water pressure was good, and I showered three times with the filter, and the color stayed clear. They provided green-capped bottled water, and importantly, there's a refrigerator! The mirrors are all large and well-lit, which is great for doing makeup. Breakfast was at Guan's Kopitiam (a famous spot among Koreans), and you can choose one menu item regardless of price. I saw in other reviews that the breakfast place was Yi Fung Laksa. I'm not sure if it depends on the room type, if they changed the breakfast spot, or if it varies by season, but both seem to be famous restaurants within a 10-minute walk! If I go to Kota Kinabalu again, I won't go to the Sheraton ㅠ, I'll definitely stay here again.

While planning my trip to Kota Kinabalu, I searched through numerous hotels on a travel platform, but the overall reviews weren't great for most, including The Cityinn. The main issue for many seemed to be hygiene. However, I still chose The Cityinn because of its excellent location and convenient access to transportation. And indeed, our choice was spot on. The room was clean and hygienic, and the towels provided in the bathroom were of good quality. The mattress was just right in terms of firmness, and the pillows were very comfortable. Both the front desk staff and housekeeping provided good service. Breakfast for the hotel was arranged at Yu Kee Laksa Restaurant, just across a small street. The food there was also delicious, as it's quite a famous eatery that often appears on 'must-try' lists. I highly recommend The Cityinn personally.
