This my favourite place to visit. It’s the only place I return again and again. We had 12 perfect days here at the end of June beginning of July. Diana and Sebastian work long hours to make sure every guests needs are met. If you want to chill by the pool, relax on an evening in the bar where Dimitri makes sure drinks are made exactly as you want them then this is the perfect place. I highly recommend the cocktails. Views out to sea at breakfast. This is all fresh local produce. I’ve travelled and you will never find friendlier people and that’s everywhere. Shops, restaurants and cafes. The food in the village is excellent and all reasonable prices. We’ve never had a bad meal. It’s a great spot for renting a quad/buggy or moped and exploring the island. Great organised trips are available to book locally. This is not a party spot, the nightlife is great food, drinks and fantastic views. The Hermes is the perfect base to stay, however I would not recommend it if you struggle with mobility as it has steep areas and steps. It’s great for burning off the extra calories you will definitely eat. Thank you for a perfect holiday.

Honestly, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. From the start, we were disappointed. We were charged an extra €7 for the air conditioning, which we only found out about after checking in — this should have been clearly stated beforehand. Even after paying, the AC was not turned on for us, which was extremely frustrating. The location is also a major issue. The hotel is far away from everything, and we had no idea before booking. Getting a taxi to the city centre costs around €70, and the last bus is around 9pm, meaning you can’t even properly enjoy the nightlife or go out without worrying about getting back. The staff experience was also very disappointing. The woman at the reception was rude and made comments about us wearing pyjamas to go and eat, even though we are on holiday and staying at a hotel. The attitude was unnecessary and made us feel unwelcome. The room conditions were not great either. We did not receive proper room service, the facilities were not what we expected, and the hotel is located right at the top of a hill with no elevators, meaning we had to carry our heavy suitcases up ourselves. The breakfast was also extremely limited — just a very small selection and not worth what you would expect from a hotel stay. Overall, this hotel was a huge disappointment. Between the hidden AC charge, poor location, rude service, lack of facilities, and uncomfortable experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. I have updated my review because the experience continued to get worse after posting my original review. Not only were we disappointed with the hotel itself, but the customer service was extremely poor. The same receptionist with short brown hair who was rude to us during our stay later came over and sarcastically said “thank you for the review, lady” and questioned whether it was me or my friend who wrote it. I found this completely unprofessional and unnecessary. Another staff member, a blonde lady, also approached us in a rude manner and accused my friend of not paying for a drink. This was not true. My friend had purchased the drink and was told by the bar staff that she could pay in the morning, which she did. When my friend explained this, there was no apology or attempt to handle the situation politely. The hotel itself was already disappointing. We had to pay an extra €7 for air conditioning after check-in, and even after paying, the AC was not turned on for us. The location is very inconvenient and much further away from everything than expected. A taxi to the city centre is around €70, and with the last bus being around 9pm, it makes it very difficult to enjoy the area. The hotel is also at the top of a hill with no lift, meaning we had to carry our suitcases up ourselves. The room conditions were not great, we did not receive proper room service, and the breakfast selection was extremely limited. I do want to mention that not all staff were unpleasant. Fabulous hotel at a very good rate. It's not super luxury, but it is more than good for a family holiday. Clean pool, very friendly staff who speak good English. The barman organised free transport for us to a local restaurant and makes excellent cocktails. We were able to arrange a late checkout for €30. Breakfast was excellent Greek style with breads, yoghurt, fabulous honey, watermelon, good coffee and plenty of olives, sweet tomatoes and fresh cucumber with cheeses and cold meats amongst many other lovely things. Cereal too and a good toaster. Drinks were reasonable for a hotel, €5 for a pint of local cider or usual beer. Cocktails were €9. Cleaning staff were cheerful, thorough and very polite. About 12mins walk from the beach, maybe 25 mins from the bit near the island where you can pay €1000 for a room. Sunbeds at the nearby windsurf centre were only €5 each. A two hour windsurf lesson was €85 and the neaby restaurants are all around €20 per head including our drink and a starter. Mistrali was the best all round (free ride from the hotel) and Captain Johns was the best for seafood and fish and oddly, the cheapest. We felt very welcome in Kefalos and it wasn't too busy during our stay. Snorkelling was excellent with 6-7 easily spotted species in shoals of 20+. Swim to the island, ring the church bell and jump off the rocks at the natural stone jetty!

We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back! The hotel is in a quiet yet convenient location with absolutely stunning views. Our room was modern, spotlessly clean, and serviced every day to a very high standard. We particularly appreciated the extra hangers in the wardrobe – such a simple touch, but so useful! The breakfast was lovely, and the coffee machine was great I especially loved the mocha. The shower had fantastic water pressure, and there was always plenty of hot water. The Tesla air conditioning worked brilliantly, keeping the room cool and comfortable throughout our stay. Free parking was another great bonus. Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing holiday and would happily return. Highly recommended!

nice clean hotel , good breakfast friendly staff , nice pool bar food and drinks not to pricey -- the hotel suits older people and couples in may/ june and sept/oct only downside was the family that came in most days and took over the pool 4 mardy kids 2 even mardier parents , surpised to find out the grand father was the jet 2 rep why as a rep would you choose a quiet hotel with guest over the age of 50 to entertain your grandkids soon as they arrived people headed for the rooms ,, pool area would be better for guests only ,,

We arrived at the Hermes hotel late at night and were greeted by lovely Diana who checked us in. Our room was in block 3, which is situated up the steep ramp at the highest level, which we didn't find was a problem, but it may be difficult for less mobile people. Be aware that balconies are not private as there is only a low wall dividing you from the guests in the next room and some balconies are separated by glass partitions. Also, there isn't a rack or line to hang your washing on. There's plenty of food to start your day at breakfast and a great coffee machine , we were very happy with it. The friendly housekeeper that looked after us kept our room clean. She provided clean towels and changed the beds regularly plus emptying the bathroom bin daily. The pool area is very large and the sunbeds are spread out so there's lots of room for eveyone to enjoy some space. Some sunbeds are in the shade under a few trees, so you don't have to be in full sun if that suits you better. You can buy snacks and drinks at the poolside bar. All the staff are really nice and very helpful We found the Hermes to be a very friendly hotel, it's got a relaxing feel to it. The views over Kamari bay and the surrounding countryside are absolutely amazing. We would definately return to this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it.
