The exterior of the hotel is fab, right along a private beach with amazing views, sand and 3 pools, including a dive pool if you need. The restaurant is also pretty scenic and the food relatively affordable for a hotel restaurant. The on-site laundry service is quick and competitively priced.
The room itself was a letdown, very dated, dark and not very clean. The bathroom in particular was an issue for me, the shower heads had rusted and not kept clean and the general state of the bathroom was dark and dirty along the walls, sink and floors. The bathroom was full of mosquitos because the shower allows standing water after you shower and doesn't drain, with no windows to open (easily). The bathroom handle was also faulty, but the staff were happy to repair it once notified. I also found a cockroach in the bathroom in the night - appreciate you can't control this, but it just added up to a wider picture with cleaning issues. Finally, the on site gym was unusable.
They just need to give the rooms (and gym) a good refurb and refresh. Until then, if you have issues with cleanliness, I advise you not to stay here.
