Hotels near Tean Island in Koh Samui

The large hotel has modern and very clean rooms and a very good room service. The TV in my room did not work. The swimming pool is very nice but unfortunately there is no gym available. You can rent a motorbike there for 300 baht per day (quite expensive) but unfortunately the staff there is not easy to reach when you wanna return the bike. You can park the bike at the nearby Central shopping mall which is quite complicated because the parking space is very narrow. All in all I would recommend the hotel!

Away from the hustle of central Chaweng, so is a good spot to be based for quiet times and used as a base to explore the island. Beachfront pool villas are nice, large and great views of the ocean. Private pool is a bonus and well worth the upgrade. Hotel was busy when I stayed and everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. The pool isn’t the largest but plentiful for the amount of rooms. Don’t forget, there are the villas with private pools, so a fair number of guests will be in their own area. Access to the beach is not directly in front of the hotel, but that’s a good thing otherwise I would be hearing everyone in front of my villa each day. Access is the side of the resort just past the restaurant. Along this stretch of beach has a few other hotel bars and restaurants to eat and drink in and if you head to the furtherest headland point, and head inland, you will come across a handful of bars and restaurants. As many people have said, the hotel is next to a road - but like most hotels in Samui, it’s just the design of the island. You can avoid the main road for your walk to the local area by going along the stretch of beach. And when you are on the island, why wouldn’t you want to walk along the beach?! So don’t listen to those comments about nothing nearby. If you want the hustle of the nightlife, Chaweng central is 15 minutes away. Get on the shuttle or order a taxi for 300thb. It’s a 4 star hotel, trying to get back to some kind of normal after covid and over time, I am sure the owners will reinvest their money to make improvements where some other guests have commented about in other posts but I do think it is dependent on the room type you book and/or are assigned as most of them are fine. Give it a go, it is worth it. I’ve been to many hotels over the years - more than the average Joe - and it’s only recently where I’ve checked in and out of two hotels on the same day in all these years.

The hotel , like many , is no longer a new Thai troika : a little scratched interior, a mediocre cleaning (blacked balcony door, shower cabin); rather scarce and uniform breakfast (which is not very typical); Problems with hot water (it is just warm, it was only a few times hot). 90% of the guests are tourists from Russia. In addition, the spacious rooms, no deposit, friendly staff, convenient location (to the center in a hurry step of 15-20), a warm pool with clean water. The problem with beach towels, judging by previous reviews, decided : now their sufficient number and they are new (on the labels is the date of issue 01.20). Baik rented near the hotel, left a deposit of 100 dollars. No problem with return. If you are swimming in Chavenge, I would recommend going to the beach not through the nearby hotel, but through the main entrance (out of the hotel and left 300 meters). But on the beach (in February) there were tangible waves and a little pulled into the sea. Therefore, with children, I think, it is better to consider another area. Also, if you don 't want to rent a bike, between the beaches are riding songeo (as I realized, before sunset as public transport, after sunset as taxi), once went to the beach of Boput, gave for two 140 bucks.

Great Boutique hotel in Chaweng. Excellent value. The room were sparking clean and has everything one needs including beach towels and umbrellas. There is a pool but not gym which is fine. It is centrally located. The breakfast is OK but sufficient. Had a quick dinner meal one night since it was raining and had a long day and did not want to venture out to the many restaurants in the area. There was no one else so we did not have high expectations but the meals were excellent and my friend raved about the drink he got. The entire staff were excellent and so kind. Front desk were efficient and warm. The concierge had GREAT recommendations on tours. We took all the ones she recommended and were not disappointed. This part of Chaweng beach is OK. Not a swimmers beach, more of a just a dip in the ocean place. I was not able to take advantage of the Kayak but did that anyway on one of the tours we took. I love Samui and will definitely return and if staying in Chaweng will definitely want to be at The Stay again.

When we arrived at Ko Samui airport, the transfer service from the hotel worked perfectly. We received a very warm welcome at the hotel and were given our room straight away. The room (Grand Deluxe Room) far exceeded our expectations. It's less of a room and more of a small apartment without a kitchen. The hotel complex is absolutely paradisiacal. Lots of beautiful plants and very well maintained. The beach was amazing, the most beautiful beach we have seen on Ko Samui (we explored the whole island by motorbike that we also rent from the hotel). The sea - turquoise blue clear water. The great thing is that it is a private beach so only accessible to hotel guests and therefore not overcrowded. The food was fantastic. There is a very large selection and there really is something for everyone. The pool area directly on the beach with an included pool bar is very beautiful. And the cleanliness of the whole hotel was excellent. What particularly impressed us and what we have never experienced on our many trips... was the warmth and friendliness of all the staff. Everyone was always helpful, funny and good organized. Friendships developed in this short time, for which we are very grateful. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what you have done for us. You gave us a wonderful honeymoon and organized such a beautiful candlelight dinner that we will never forget in our lives. 1. Had 2 separate bookings and requested them to make it a back-to-back reservation so I have the same room throughout my stay. Had informed them prior to arrival (assured me it’s done), had to request and remind again upon check in (apparently wasn’t done). Came by the front desk to check on it a day before my 2nd booking (it wasn’t done yet again!). The next day, my key wasn’t working as it wasn’t programmed for my entire stay. They gave me a bogus reason that I need to check in again when I was assured everything was resolved on 3 occasions! 2. Requested for late check out and was told to check again on the eve of my departure. Checked on the eve of my departure, to only be rejected for late check out. Was repeatedly told to keep my luggage at 12pm when I was trying to reason with them. We know we can leave our luggage like any other hotel but didn’t want to. Hence, the late check out. The staff should be able to see the occupancy forecasts and manage my expectations upon check in and not disappoint me on a later day. 3. Shared my negative experience and after some empathetic requests (I didn’t want any monetary service recovery), was given an extra hour for late check out. They said that’s the best they can do. 4. Make sure to lock all your valuables in the safe. Housekeeping left my door ajar after make up room. I only found out when I returned at night! 5. Nice beach bar but basic cocktails. The minimum spent for a sofa/bed is ridiculously high. So visit other beach bars with better service and cocktails. 6. To all that’s reading this, don’t expect any empathy and assistance from this hotel. Don’t make any request! They can’t resolve them! I gave them 2 stars for the below. Positives: 1. Location is okay, quiet area with some stores and restaurants 2. Staff was friendly and pool is warm to dip 3. Breakfast acceptable.

Mid March, strong winds, strong waves, red flag, can’t swim on Chaweng beach. Last year September Chaweng beach water was so calm and flat, so beautiful, picture perfect, best beach in Koh Samui, but in March, not swimmable. But we found no wind, no waves at Choengmon beach! Ozo, excellent breakfast, nice pool, right on beach. Good sunbeds, clean. if you can get one. There is Ozo rule: one towel per person, no saving sunbed, no outside food or drink. We were shocked by these rules. Good for management, but for guests, not feel so good. We never stayed in a hotel in Thailand with such rules. The biggest negative is it is very noisy at night, up to 3 am, many guest noises and can hear next door toilet flushes, and strange scuffling sound at night behind the walls. The bed is very comfortable but we could not sleep because of the sounds. Finally, the room is just too small, for two people. Balcony so small. We stayed one week, then moved to another hotel in Choengmon beach. We will not stay here again. Didn’t have any memorable experience with the staff. The staff were just staff, not friendly, no smiles. Disappointed.

The best buffet breakfast. With a restaurant overlooking the sea. The pool is located in an area with access to the sea, which means that you can choose to sunbathe upstairs by the pool or on the sun loungers on the sand.

When booking and looking at the photos on the booking website I used I was very much looking forward to this stay. When I arrived my first impression was I couldn't wait to leave. We were shown to a small dark dingy room but told we could upgrade to a superior room. Thankfully it was much better, but still nothing like that shown on the booking site. Don't get me wrong this place is very inexpensive and in a nice location but it could be so much better. It was dirty, we had to go to Lotus's to get cleaning products. The bed may as well be a sheet of chipboard, I'm not sure there was actually a mattress on it? In the three days we stayed the room was not cleaned, bins emptied or anything. The pool area was dirty, people sitting around smoking ****, coughing and spitting; again the photos on the website make it look awesome - in real life not so Definitely not a boutique hotel. On the positive the desk staff are friendly and helpful.

Overall, Lanna Hotel is a nice place for long-term stays, especially considering the great deals they offer for monthly rates. It is situated in a quiet residential area, although there may not be many attractions or amenities in the immediate vicinity. However, it is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive away from Fisherman's Village or Chaweng, where there are more options for dining and entertainment. The rooms at Lanna Hotel provide good Wi-Fi connectivity and boast beautiful decor. The common areas are well-maintained, and the staff, especially the reception staff, are very nice and helpful. They assisted us a lot when we lost our credit card, and they were accommodating to our every request. However, during our month-long stay, we noticed a few drawbacks that we would like to point out in the hopes that they will consider them and make improvements. Smoking: Smoking is allowed in every corner of the hotel, which can be especially annoying when sitting in the restaurant and trying to eat while being exposed to smoke. When we asked the waitress to request that people not smoke in the restaurant, they refused to interfere. We suggest creating a designated smoking area that is far away from common areas. Restaurant: Prices - The restaurant prices are significantly high. A simple Pad Thai dish costs three to four times more than in a regular thai restaurant, and they add service charges and taxes. Every meal cost us about 800 bhat for 2. Dishes - The Mediterranean dishes at the restaurant are not good. Coming from a Mediterranean country, we can say that the taste of these dishes is not authentic. We tried a few times and gave up. Plastic - Please consider reducing the use of plastic straws. Guests can request a straw if needed, and it would be beneficial to use paper straws. It would contribute positively to the environment. Impractical design - The restaurant and gym at Lanna Hotel have beautifully designed glass ceilings, which are impractical in sunny and hot Thailand. It becomes uncomfortably hot to fully enjoy the restaurant or gym. Please consider finding a way to cover the ceiling. Additionally, having a restaurant without air conditioning in Thailand can be challenging. Internet: The internet quality in the common areas is not good. It was difficult to work outside the room due to the heat, and the Wi-Fi that was often faulty. Since there are many digital nomads staying here and fewer children, we suggest converting the kids' room into a co-working space with air conditioning and fiber Wi-Fi. Activities: We expected Lanna Hotel to offer more activities for long-term residents or digital nomads. However, they only provide early morning yoga sessions. Therefore, we feel that there is not much added value for digital nomads staying here. Other than these few drawbacks, Lanna Hotel is a charming place with modern conveniences. We reccomend to stay here if the price is compatible, as there are other, more well located hote
