A pinboard full of complimentary notes from dozens of appreciative guests in the Hotel Sander says it all : this is a very smart house, well run and friendly, and deserves the many plaudits – not least because it comes at a very reasonable rate. From the bright underground garage direct into the tastefully finished lobby to the spacious inner courtyard and the spacious, well-appointed bedrooms, the Sander is well conceived and comfortable with a welcome touch of flair. Breakfast in the large and airy dining-room offers an excellent choice. Well located opposite the attractive new Koblenz Forum centre and within easy walking distance of anywhere you need to go in the city centre, the Sander is an ideal base or stopover in the busy Rhine/Mosel triangle.

Wow. I was so impressed with Motel 8. I was thinking a cheesy rundown motel, totally surprised. Our room was very nice and clean. It was so modern and a beautiful lobby area. Rhe libby restrooms were super clean. Yes, I would recommend and good location.

In May 2023 we visited Koblenz while on a Rhine cruise. We moored overnight in front of the hotel and had a walking tour of the city as part of the cruise. We loved the city and decided we would revisit the city for the Christmas markets. We therefore booked a five night stay before the boat left. The hotel is in a delightful position on the banks of the Rhine with magnificent views of the fortress on the far bank and the cable car which takes you to it. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. As we overlooked the river we had a nice balcony. Given that it was November and cold, we spent very little time on it! There were no tea or coffee making facilities provided by default but this can be hired for a very reasonable price. There is a lift but, even so, we still had to navigate around 10 steps to get to our room. My wife has to walk using a rollator but was able to manage. A wheelchair user might struggle however. The hotel serves one of the best buffet breakfasts we have experienced anywhere. A wide range of quality food should satisfy any palette. They even provide Prosecco! They do not serve any other meals but there are a good number of good quality restaurants nearby. While there is no bar you can buy a good range of wines and cocktails and there is a mini bar in the rooms. The service provided by the friendly staff was of very high quality. They fielded any problems we threw at them quickly and efficiently. Reception is only manned until 10:00pm so make sure that you plan your arrival time accordingly. As well as its delightful views the hotel is within easy walking distance of most of the popular tourist attractions that this delightful city has to offer.

A hotel on the Rhine with a beautiful environment and underground parking. The hotel is 1 km away from the main business street in the city center, convenient for shopping and walking. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is rich in variety, the ingredients are fresh, very delicious, and there is freshly ground coffee. Worth living.

Great location just off the river, perfect for those cycling the Rhine or Mosel. There is bike storage in the underground garage. The hotel is nestled between the river on one side and the Altstadt on the other. Plus there’s a mall just a half block away. The room is small but clean with a small but good quality flat screen tv with cable channels including a couple English-language news channels. Great water pressure for the shower. Windows can be titled and there are electric Rouladen to keep out the sunlight. Plus an air conditioner or fan which is nice. My only complaint is the mattress is extremely worn and I kept rolling into the crater all night. The pillow is so old and flat it’s almost nonexistent. Otherwise, great hotel, I’d stay here again if they upgraded the bedding.

TRIP ADVISOR On 9 April 2022 while on a Viking cruise my wife had a serious accident during a walking tour of Cochem, Germany. She was sent to a hospital in Koblenz, Germany by helicopter and had emergency surgery that night to relieve pressure on her brain caused by bleeding. I got back to Koblenz later that afternoon via a 45+ minute taxi ride and was able to get to the hospital before her surgery. The next day, 10 April, I had to pack all our luggage and remove it from the Viking boat because it was leaving the next morning at 7 am. Then I had to find a hotel near the hospital and move our luggage to it. I was extremely fortunate to choose the Hotel Hohenstaufen. The people at the hotel constantly helped us with whatever we needed. It also had an excellent restaurant, The Mondrian, whose Chef, Martin, also went out of his way to help us. We had to extend our stay at the hotel five times while waiting for our travel insurance company to make arrangements for us to fly back to the U.S. The hotel staff worked with us each time to ensure we kept the same room and did not have to move. The hotel was spotlessly clean and close to the main train station as well as the hospital. There were a number of very good restaurants and a Gelateria in the area which made it a comfortable place to be while we waited for arrangements to be made to get us home. Even though we spent a lot of time in our room hoping to hear some positive news from our insurance company, the hotel staff graciously worked around us and made sure we had whatever we needed to be comfortable. If you plan to visit Koblenz I would strongly encourage you to consider staying at the Hotel Hohenstaufen. Dan Hope

Safe wurde aufgenommen, alternativ der Hotelsafe angeboten ********** ! ! ! Fortunately, we could gather a public parking place right in front of the hotel and unlock a 24-Stunden-Buchung parking watch. For the narrow entry to the hotel garage as well as a parking lift system is inappropriate for our ”family kitchen” (experience!). Comparison with the reception staff quite ”holpig” lack of sufficient German knowledge from their side. A card for rooms and hotel outdoors (the only way to get into the building from the specified evening time) that was given to us was not opened. Rooms were good for our ”demands” (astonishing for this hotel category -＞ refrigerator available for cooling things to bring with itself) Breakfast: Quark for Musli I missed and unfortunately only the highly sugar-containing finished cereals find. Ergo prefers to give up immediately. Because the seabream or seabream seems not suitable for the other foods I asked what this was meant to do... With the word seabream, the “breakfast service” could not start anything. So I asked if this ”ingredient” was thought of ”salmon”. Then I was told that the salmon was out (about 9:30 / breakfast is probably in the “layer system” after we were asked when we arrived, in which “time window” we are looking for breakfast). Very irritating - we could directly observe immediately before that a not half-full plate with salmon cut was carried into the kitchen. Would the staff intend to “safe” this sweetness exclusively for the breakfast (even that we could have observed)?
