"Tokyu Stay Hida-Takayama MusubinoYu I had a wonderful stay at Tokyu Stay Hida-Takayama Musubi no Yu, and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip. 👍 Pros Superb Location The location is perfect — it’s right next to both the bus terminal and the train station. This made arrival and departure extremely easy, especially when traveling with luggage. Everything felt very convenient. Plenty of Restaurants Nearby There are many restaurants within walking distance, so finding a place to eat was never a problem. Whether you want local Hida beef or simple Japanese dishes, there are lots of options around. FamilyMart Around the Corner Having a FamilyMart just around the corner was very convenient. It was easy to grab snacks, drinks, or anything we needed at any time. Good Breakfast The breakfast was good, with a nice variety of dishes. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying — a great way to start the day before sightseeing. Private Onsen Experience One of the best parts of our stay was visiting the private onsen. It was so relaxing and peaceful, and it felt like a special experience after a long day of walking. Definitely a memorable highlight! ⭐ Overall Tokyu Stay Hida-Takayama MusubinoYu is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Takayama. With its unbeatable location, convenient surroundings, and relaxing private onsen, it offers both comfort and a unique Japanese experience. I would happily stay here again."

"Stayed one night in Takayama and specifically chose the Japanese-style room at Sakura Ryokan. It was my first time sleeping on a traditional Japanese tatami mat, quite a unique experience! I was a bit unaccustomed to the room having no TV or chairs at first, but I guess that's characteristic of traditional Japanese rooms. I slept really well and woke up feeling refreshed for breakfast at the Miyagawa Morning Market the next day. Definitely recommended!"

"Arriving in Takayama by highway bus, I chose to stay at the same Residence Hotel as my previous visit. It's incredibly convenient, located just a left turn from the Nohi Bus Terminal exit, making it zero distance from both the bus and JR stations. The luxury suite is huge, featuring a balcony, four beds, and a fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans, a microwave, and a large refrigerator. The washing machine with a dryer was an absolute lifesaver. Even better, all the drinks in the fridge were complimentary, including two 2L bottles of mineral water, beer, sake, green tea, and cola. Basic condiments like salt, soy sauce, pepper, and cooking oil were also provided. There's a supermarket right next door, perfect for buying Hida beef and cooking up a feast."

The rooms are modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind. Despite being close to the station, the rooms are surprisingly quiet, allowing for a peaceful night’s rest. The bed was very comfortable, and the amenities provided made the stay feel smooth and relaxing. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready with recommendations for food and sightseeing around Takayama. Their hospitality really made the experience feel welcoming. Overall, Relax Hotel Takayama Station offers great value with excellent comfort and convenience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Takayama—whether for sightseeing or a short stopover. "Mixed experience here. The men actually have a single station public bath set up which is obviously not a proper onsen but still useful for a hostel. The free small snacks are a nice bonus. The barbecue room is cool and the 11 am checkout should be good. Unfortunately that 11 am checkout is completely undermined by staff marching into the dorm to take care of the bedding of those who checked out hours earlier and no one can sleep through that given the construction of this building. You have to come back at 11 anyway to do my bed so why not stay out until 11 and then prepare the room then for everyone???"

"First time in Takayama and wanted to try staying in Ryohan style hotel; took about 6 mins walk from Takayama station to hotel; not obvious to find the main door; no lift but staff will carry the luggages to room for us; love the free breakfast and unlimited choice of tea to consume throughout the day; comfortable bed and clean room; impressed with 2 sinks and space there but the shower area is quite small"

"This hotel is absolutely perfect!!! The room is super spacious, we could open all three of our suitcases. It's only a 1-minute walk from the Nohi Bus Terminal, which is incredibly convenient! Maruaki is just a 5-minute walk away. Cross the street from the hotel and walk straight to the old town and morning market; the location is truly excellent, the kind where you don't even need navigation. The room has an induction cooktop, microwave, and various utensils, so you can cook your own meals. There's a large supermarket and McDonald's behind the hotel, but you need to take an underpass and walk for about 10 minutes. All in all, it's perfect. I'm so satisfied."

"There's no customer service on-site; you have to call customer service via a tablet at the counter. The entire call is in English, and they'll guide you step-by-step, but it's very cumbersome. If you're not tech-savvy, you won't be able to use it at all. Besides the room rate, you'll also be charged an extra accommodation tax. **Note‼️** This hotel has no elevator, and the stairs are very steep, making it extremely difficult to carry luggage! I think it's not worth it at all. While there is Hida Old Town nearby, it closes completely after 5 PM. We arrived close to 5 PM, and there was nowhere left to explore. It was quite a shock, because the accommodation wasn't cheap, and we couldn't go shopping, so we ended up just staying in the room. Plus, the room didn't have a TV, and the bathroom was tiny and cramped. It didn't feel like a tourist area at all. This trip felt completely baffling to me. 😕"

"K's House Takayama Oasis is the best place to be if you're traveling around the area. I love that the kitchen is open 24 hours and all the utensils are free to use. The staff are friendly too, and the open kitchen and common room provided room for us to make new friends. They have branches all over Japan, too! I would definitely stay here again!"

"The room was incredibly spacious, and the TV was huge! I loved lounging on the sofa. There was a bunk bed with a single on top and a double on the bottom. Our family of four stayed there, but the room could easily accommodate six people!"
