Best hotel we have stayed in Iceland. Beautiful nordic style interior with equipped amenities. Comfy king-sized bed and sofa. View from room is also amazing and very instagrammable.

The room is very clean, the soundproofing and insulation are very good, the dinner is especially delicious, the menu is very rich, the lamb and daily chef recommendations are excellent, it is the first choice in a small town in southern Iceland

Full marks for Ctrip’s service and full marks for Magama Hotel’s scenery, but you can’t add an extra bed to your child, nor can you pay extra. The hotel uses solar hot water for bathing, and the floor heating and hot water in each room rely on a separate hot water machine, so After the big one and the little one finished taking a bath, I could only take a cold shower. Why is this important factor not written in the hotel introduction? Hot water for bathing is in limited supply!

This was my second stay at this hotel - and the rooms are so well designed and stylish! Since my last stay (in 2021) however, there has been an expansion and more new cabins have been added up above the original 10-15 down by the lower pond. I understand there are plans for further expansion too - a traditional hotel building. While it is still above average for hotels in this area, I'd suggest more attention or care to landscaping around the outside/front of the upper cabins for more "curb appeal." My partner also noted some degradations on the breakfast buffet - what happened to the smoke salmon? Overall, love the design and comfort of the rooms - SO cozy. Check in.

We had a nice stay here at Magma Hotel. We spent two nights in Dec '23 and used this as a home-base for short trips to the south coast of Iceland to see Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach, and to do some ice-cave sight seeing.
The Hotel was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, but there was some wear-and-tear on the finishes that needs to be fixed. This is a "builders grade" hotel. Nothing too fancy and not put together with precision.
Restaurant was good for dinner. The breakfast buffet was OK.
I would definitely stay here again for the same purpose. It was a good value.

Beautiful property next to a pond and hills of lovely scenery. The onsite evening dining was superb and we appreciated the breakfast spread. It was nice to be separate from other apartments to cut down on noise. Our only issue was that the thermostat was locked to a temp that was too warm for sleeping, but we cracked the sliding glass door and didn't have an issue. Very comfortable beds and nice shower. We'd definitely stay again without hesitation.
