We just drove past whilst visiting friends. We asked if it was okay to bring a child in. The staff were very welcoming. We had lunch there. The food was perfect. Well cooked and really hot. Staff were so friendly and pleasant. Would certainly recommend to others . In a nutshell. Warm welcoming great service ,good well cooked food. Will certainly visit again when in the area. Xxxxx

I booked a room for myself at the Star hotel so that I could attend an event in Wigtown without worrying about the 100 mile drive home afterward. Due to driving down to said event straight from work I didn't manage to check in until after 9pm. My hosts could not have been more accommodating, even offering to cook me a dinner when I enquired about the local take away situation. Had a fun night in the hotel bar with some lovely locals after securing myself a bag of chips in the neighbouring village. My room was very clean, warm and comfortable with a good shower and a very comfy bed. Everything I needed for a single night away! The following day I was treated to a fantastic breakfast before making my way home. Would definately return here and stay for a bit longer!

Great locals type pub, on Main Street, good food and breakfast and rooms clean and tidy, breakfast good, just off the main road in Dumfries and Galloway, friends and helpful staff, great for and overnight stay. Some off road parking for motorbikes

We only spent one night here when attending a nearby family BBQ. We were able to check in early and the process was quick, easy and friendly. The room was basic but had everything needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay. We didn't have any food but did call into the pub in the evening for a drink where the atmosphere was very friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again

Very friendly staff, and locals. My daughter and myself were welcomed with open arms by both staff and locals. Very good value for money. Also no pretensions A breath of fresh air Unusual in this day and age

Well located hotel
A very nice little hotel with tidy clean room with lots of little touches such as coffees, teas biscuits etc.
Excellent evening meal at reasonable cost.
Good breakfast with good choice.
Friendly service and nice decor in dining room.
Good location just off the A75 road.
