Arden House Hotel

My wife and I have just stayed (for 3 nights) at Arden House. Our room (17) was a good size and the the beds were very comfortable. It was also very quiet, as the hotel is well set back from the main road. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped, with a good walk-in shower. Breakfast was fairly simple but all reasonable options were available. We also ate a couple of times in their restaurant. The menu was quite short but the usual pub-grub style of food was on offer, nicely cooked with generous portions. There was also more than adequate parking. Finally, all the staff were lovely, from the boss downwards.

Return visit for 3 nights and a chill. Excellent hosts with a lovely friendly welcome, nothing too much trouble. The food is very nice and good value especially the senior menu. The young waitresses are efficient and very polite. Hotel is clean and beds are very comfortable. Highly recommended and will be back!

I've stayed several times at this hotel and always found it very good and well priced. It's situated in the countryside a few minutes drive outside Kirkcudbright with views over the countryside from rooms at the front. My room was a good size and the en-suite was huge, I got the impression it used to be another bedroom. Averything was spotlessly clean and the bed was confortable, plus there was a desk and chair to allow working on a laptop etc. My only observation was sockets were all down in the skirting board and none had USB sockets. There was ample coffee sachets, decent biscuits and the hosts had no problem with my request for a small jug of milk. The breakfast was nice, as was the evening meal and staff were friendly and happy to chat. WiFi was good enough to stream YouTube. Note that the bar doesn't open until about 5PM, something to have in mind if you're arriving early, checkin is from 3PM. All in all, very happy with my stay and I hope to return.

Stayed 3 nights here in September, The room was great, well decorated and maintained and spotlessly clean. The bed was soooo comfortable too! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the meals we had there were excellent, I can't recommend Arden House Hotel and the staff enough!

Stayed here recently with nine friends at the end of our first day of doing the C2C cycle ride . The food was lovely and served efficiently by the friendly staff , the rooms were spacious and it was all good value for money . Will return here again !

My partner Helen and I made a return trip to Arden House on the 4th and 5th of November and were delighted with the warm reception and welcome we received from Billy and Lee. In addition to our previous review in April, we were very impressed with the price in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis in the country. The senior citizen menu was delightful and is incredible value for money. The portion sizes are more than adequate and are not the miniscule servings you would find in other restaurants. The two young waitresses were exceptionally well trained and were extremely polite and efficient at their job. We definitely plan to make another visit to Arden House.
