Very pleasant hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable bed, had a great night’s sleep followed by a lovely freshly cooked breakfast.

Church House really came through for me when a planned stay with family required modification at the last minute... what an absolute gem! My stay in Kington was made all the more special because of Andrew and Liz -- and their "grandog," Coco. The house itself is gorgeous and interesting and very comfortable, but it was Andrew and Liz as hosts that made my two-night stay truly special... I was welcomed in as if I were an old friend, which I very much appreciated. Conversation was warm and easy, and Andrew's breakfast was scrumptious! My stay at Church House was so much more than I could have expected. When I'm back to visit family again I will make a point of -- at the very least -- popping by to say hello to Andrew and Liz. It was that special of an experience.

We had an exquisite time staying at the church house. I loved the two hosts and wished I could have stayed longer to get to know them better. Our favorite part was upon eating the pumpkin bread we were offered, Andrew asked if we’d like more. We looked at each other, clearly wanting more but weren’t sure if it was socially acceptable to get it. Immediately sensing that hesitation, he said yes, you clearly want more. Apart from that the place is close to town and the old church. It has a really nice garden with tulips that were in full bloom. Breakfast featured a black current jam that was incredible as well as fresh rhubarb both from the garden. Other highlights include a comfortable bed, lots of books (like a full library’s worth), and bird paintings on the wall. It was our favorite stop on the trip.

My vegan friend and I stayed here whilst walking Offa's Dyke, so we arrived weary with very muddy boots. We were soon cosy by the fire, being served tea and cake, surrounded by books and a piano to tinkle on! Liz and Andrew were gracious, welcoming hosts; friendly without being intrusive. Morning tea was left outside our bedroom door, with a discreet knock, before we descended for breakfast with apple juice pressed from their own apples, and homemade jam and marmelade. Vegan and carnivore were both well catered for with the full breakfast! The house itself is beautiful, as is the garden, and it's a short walk downhill into the village for evening meal and pub. There's an interesting church across the road, and you're right on the Offa's Dyke route. I would love to return.

Delightful, stepping back to a more restful era. The house is full of character and very comfortable. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating, and the garden looked lovely. A great place to switch off and relax.

Church House is fabulous. My two brothers and I stayed for a weekend late September so we could walk Hergest Ridge and tick one of our bucket-list boxes. More a home-from-home than a Guest House and the hosts, Andrew and Lis, bent over backwards to make our stay as restful and relaxing as they could with their ‘nothing is too much trouble’ approach. Fancy a cuppa? Then Andrew was always happy to oblige. Perfectly appointed on the outskirts of Kington, the property is just a stone’s throw from Offa’s Dyke Path. The town centre with its shops, watering holes and eateries is also just a short walk away. Obviously a much-loved family home, it is difficult not to get enveloped by the warmth and comfort that this property emanates. Yes the floorboards creak a bit, yes the odd leaf may blow in through a window, so if you would prefer the anonymity and solitude of a sterile hotel experience (with teabags, UHT milk and little packets of biscuits in your room) then Church House is probably not for you. We, however, loved it!

I stayed a night at Church House whilst walking Offa's Dyke. I sum up the stay as feeling like a house guest rather than a paying guest. A beautiful house right on the path so no extra walking with friendly and attentive hosts.

Stunning house close to the centre of the village, just below Offa’s Dyke. Liz & Andrew are fabulous hosts & their house is simply stunning. It is beautifully furnished & the room was fabulous. Amazing breakfast.

Many thanks to Liz and Andrew for the warmth welcoming, drying our wet clothes after the heavy rainfall and for Andrews excellent Porridge. Many thanks also to Liz for the interessting talks about music. We enjoyed our stay in the Church Guesthouse very much.
