We have driven past this place so many times whilst going or coming back from a job and finally had time to try it, the food was great , my starter ,mushroom and bacon with port sauce was outstanding! The rest of the meal lived up to the starters and our waitress was great! I I highly recommend having a meal at the Andel and we will be taking our family back there soon!

The hotel is ok but it’s very old fashioned. It needs updating. The people are very friendly but the guest areas and rooms are decorated like something from the 1980s. Our room had a trouser press and one of those old fashioned box hair dryers. Functional but just outdated. The shower was impossible to regulate and was over a bath. Bars of hand soap were provided which again is just a bit old fashioned. The bed was comfortable and there was an easy chair in the room but the curtains weren’t lined so it was daylight from 7am and impossible to not get woken up. The shower also leaked and the bath panel was all bulging from being damp. For £105 a night excluding breakfast it was a bit expensive.

The property was clean with nice garden surrounds outside.. Took my dog with me was only charged 10.00 for the 4 nights.. Breakfast and dinner are offered nice little dining area... Depending on what you want to do there is bus stop near by to take you jnto kings Lynn.. No pubs near by but they do have a small pub in the hotel... We used it a a base and ventured out everyday so a good stay...

Three (elderly, one severely disabled) mates for 5 nights sharing a room for three. A good base for touring the area as we did, from Swaffham to Wisbech and Lynn. Not quite sure what to make of The Andel - It's part hotel, part motel (our bit), part restaurant and part party venue, and it gets very mixed reviews from guests with very widely varying expectations. I can only comment on the motel aspect, which was great - easy parking, all level access, nice verandah to the room and easy (covered) mobility access to the main building. We ate all week in the bar, where the food was good though the bar meals menu was a bit limited after several nights - but that was our choice, and it's OK for a shorter stay. The restaurant menu was more extensive. As many others have remarked, the food generally is very good in our experience. Staff all friendly and accomodating, though the bar staff's (not the owners') experience seemed limited - one produced an IPA instead of cider, another declined to make a liqeur coffee as being too complicated. Pricing seems reasonable across the board, especially in view of the recent pandemic and food price rise issues nationally. Hygiene and cleanliness were fine, but the fittings in the room (no 10) were shall we say 'faded'. Whilst the decor was fine, the taps and shower - which all worked fine, by the way - look as if they are from when the place was opened. A mixer-tap shower and a manually switched water heater are fine, but nevertheless dated, and an absence of any safety mat in the bath and no grab handles above the bath suggest this apsect is overdue for updating - sorry, Tina, but I'm with Matthew on this point :o) By contrast, the beds were great, but wi-fi coverage in the chalet seemed to die after 11pm... So as I said, a mixed bag of really good and "could try harder". On balance, though, would I stay here again? Yes, most definitely. Friendly and courteous staff, good quality food and a really comfy bed. Sure there are some *******, but show me a hotel that doesn't have them!

About 30 of us had a meal there last night . Six of us at one table at the end of the meal i ask for scores out of ten for a 3-course meal. I rated it 9 the rest said 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, The bar lad ought to have some training, There was a lady at our table who was drinking wine it was all sediment in the bottom when she questioned the bar lad his reply was oh I don't drink wine. I think he should have offered a replacement drink. But not a bad meal.

Went for a Sunday lunch today and the food was exceptional, well cooked fresh and piping hot . The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them to help us especially as my husband was on crutches after a serious accident and they could not do enough for us.
