We just stayed at the Grey Bonnet in early Feb 2025 and it definitely exceeded our expectations. We took a long weekend to go skiing/snowboarding at Kilington with our teen boys and a few of their friends. The location was super close to Killington - 10- 15 minute drive. We loved that there was a free game room and an indoor pool - our boys loved this. The bar and restaurant at the Inn was also perfect. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! We would definitely stay there again!!

I was driving from Stowe to Manchester on Friday night and hit a scary snowstorm. When i lost wifi coverage for directions, I stopped at the first hotel I saw which was the Gray Bonnet. Rachel, the woman at the desk couldn't offer me a room as they were totally booked but she helped me access wifi for directions and to find a better navigation app than the one I had. She also called a couple of other hotels nearby to see if they could take me which they couldn't . I went to their bar to get a coffee and hamburger and five minutes later Rachel came in to tell me that she had talked to the manager (Brett) who was working on getting a room ready for me which had been unavailable due to a plumbing problem which he was working on fixing. Because of the snowstorm I would have taken any room regardless of its condition, but this room on the basement line was clean, freshly painted (the whole level was nice ) with fresh sheets and towels, perfect shower, overall more of the quality of a four star hotel. I knew that Rachel and Brett went out of their way to help me because the snow conditions were so bad and I want to thank them for this! In addition, the hotel is a real find for the price and the burger and breakfast was great. The man at the bar who served it to me was a history teacher and it was really interesting to converse with him and several other people eating in the bar about things going on in the world today. Thanks again, Gray Bonnet!

The Inn has been renovated. The pictures being shown are old. The rooms are very nice with new furniture. This inn is awesome. The mid-week breakfast was very adequate with yogurt, instant oatmeal, fruit, muffins, with the weekend breakfast has all the plus scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, and biscuits. The hotel is a work in progress so they do need some additions to their rooms which they are working on. This Inn is wonderful.

Don’t be deceived by the property picture. This place is a gem. Love the charm of an independently owned Inn. Entry way was warm and inviting, Brett and his wife Casey were more than accommodating to make our stay feel like a home away from home. We chose this Inn due to the close proximity to both Killington Mtn and Picos Mtn. This trip was a Christmas gift for my son who recently took up snowboarding. He was excited for the number of slopes available at both mountains. No more than a 6mile drive in opposite directions. The double bed room was perfect for our stay. Free Continental breakfast on the weekdays and full breakfast on the weekend. As I don’t partake in outdoor activities i was able to easily drop him off in the mornings and either go back to the Inn to relax in the common living room, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy some quiet time while everyone was out playing or head over to Rutland for some shopping. If you need snow gear, highly recommend you stop in at the Basin “ski essentials”. Great variety and best prices in town. (Thanks Brett for that tip - we did check out other shops for comparison and you were spot on) If we’re ever up this way again (traveled from Florida) would definitely make the Inn our first choice for accommodations.

The Inn recently changed ownership so the restaurant was only open for dinner and the property doesn't have a liquor license yet. The 2 women running the front desk were very professional and extremely pleasant to deal with. My room had a terrific bed and linens (seemed new), a flat screen TV, nice bath, and private deck. No problem getting ice delivered to the room. Breakfast was excellent. Our golfing group all had a very restful, quiet night and can't wait to return.

It was a five experience minus a few minor amenities for weary off season travelers. The host/owner Paul was personable, warm and welcoming and shared stories about the origin of the inn. We regretted not staying for Paul’s home breakfast!

One of the strangest stays at a hotel I've ever had. I arrived with my teenage son at 10:45PM, we had called to say we would be arriving late, to find multilpe other guests waiting for their rooms to be ready. The owner, who appears to be the only staff member, was busy cleaning the rooms. When he showed us to our room, that was ready, he showed us many features, turned on the heat, how to use the TV remote and that we would need to run the water for 15 minutes to get hot water. The room never got warm, the heating system made noises all night long, the TV didn't work at all, the bathroom vent was incredible loud and the water was YELLOW. When we left in the morning, we again found the owner, now the chef cooking breakfast in the restaurant. The beds were very comfortable, that is the one positive I can give. He definitly needs to hire more staff and make some improvements for the amount he charges.
