JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa

Khuekkhak|1.29km from Bun Tao Gong Temple
We spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

Firstly, let me say that this review has nothing to do with the wonderful Thai staff who was incredibly helpful, friendly and no mistake (the owner was actually far abroad during his stay) We thought we would stay elsewhere, since two of our four visitors canceled the last minute but asked for a reduction in the percentage. They offered 2000 baht from the total of 15000 THB, which was better than nothing but much less than expected given the despair of the tourism industry in the middle of the coronary pandemic. In addition, they reduced room prices by almost half immediately after the reservation. Then, although the confirmation we received from booking. com showed that the property accepted ”Visa, Euro / Mastercard” as payment means, they told us that they did not actually receive card payments, So we ended up paying an extra $22 AUD at ATM fees so that we can withdraw enough cash to cover the full cost. But the ”deluxe 2 br villa” we stayed in was overvalued enough for what it was, and I would certainly not recommend staying here. The only good thing we can say is that it was spacious. It is a pity that the majority of this place was useless, and that the majority of this place was unusable. because it had no air conditioning to do it around a swelled and unbearable 40 degrees (104 Fahrenheit) all day. Although it is listed as an air-conditioned villa, the only air conditioning was a single, insufficient wall unit in the bedrooms in the back placed in a hole cut off by the shared wall, The bath also jumped from wastewater because of the lack of fluctuations in the hydraulic facilities and the excessive heat. The photos on the reservation. com site for 2 br deluxe villa are four years old and really need to be updated, as is the list of lockdowns. The differences include: only one half-size refrigerator, no toast and no microwave oven in the kitchen, only one gas stove, both broken ignition burners requiring very dangerous manual ignition with a normal lighter, TV is not in the public space, it is placed on the roof in one of the bedrooms and will not activate the appearance of a constant ”control signal error”. Instead of fine decorations on the shelves, A box of rat poison was characterized as talking about the big problem of rats/ rats in the villa - we could hear them walking on the ceiling and there were flaws in the entire kitchen. I am not very sure what the ‘veranda' would be. The pictures also do not give an accurate picture of the free breakfast, as it was not much more than

Stayed here just before the pandemic and was keen to come back. We stayed in the orchid wing of the hotel and again the room was spotless and very well maintained like everything else here. A compact hotel on even ground so makes it very easy if you have mobility problems.the on site beach front restaurant is very good and no more expensive than eating out at the limited number of restaurants in the area. On site is also an outside sala for massages which again were comparable with those outside the resort price wise and executed very well. There is also in reception a tour desk with a lovely and knowledgeable lady who can sort trips out for you. All the staff here from the gardeners to management are very polite with a happy disposition. If you want a bit of peace and quiet on a lovely stretch of beach and the town and markets within a 10 minute ride away this hotel should be in your thoughts.

High cost performance! The room was clean and tidy, and there was a simple breakfast:) The surrounding facilities are also good, not far from 711, there is a night market, there are also some restaurants. It is about 20 minutes drive from Similan Pier. The car to the pier is 08:00 to the hotel. Compared with the 2-hour drive from Patong to the pier, it saves time. Recommended to go to Similan friends to stay.

Fabulous little resort. We have been travelling Thailand for 5 months and this resort is in my top 2 as everything was perfect. Stayed in a pool villa. The pool is really for sitting however very good for cooling off with a drink. The room was spotless and big. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and clean. Bathroom had everything and was spacious with huge shower. The main pool is very clean and modern looking. Staff super friendly. You will need a car or taxi or scooter. We had a car so no problem. The resort is at the north end of the area. Was a little tricky to find but turn left at the road sign and drive down the track you come into the back of the resort. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was served to you. Great coffee! Standard Thai Brekky eggs toast fruit etc enough to start your day.

The hotel is a kilometer from the sea. At 9 and 10 hours there is a free transfer. The Kao Laka beaches are beautiful ... Over the road 7 leven and the market (works 3 times a week). The prices on the market are slightly more expensive than in Phuket. The initial price for strips and souvenirs is more in 2-3 than the final. Cafes of all different lots, starting from 60 bates per dish in cheap. Staff at the hotel is just wonderful, especially the girl on the recipes. In the room safe (on the key), refrigerator, TV (without Russian channels), air conditioner, extract with a fan. Wonderful balcony (we had 3 floors). Very delicious breakfast (in a nearby hotel) with views of a small river and mountain. There is a thick raisins)))) In the toilet half the concrete floor, so the esthetes are not here)))) But there is a stream heater. They give up 0.5 water every day and beach towels. Almost every day in the bar (comfortable) live music. There are some two bars separated by the entrance. In one table and shelves with books ... There you can eat if you want. In general, the feeling as if you finally returned home ... In step-by-step availability a couple of Buddhist temples (there is still, but a little further), the museum of tsunami. The near frame is still being built, in the second impressive Buddha statue. The road traffic is small, so the bike can be taken boldly. 6 km from the hotel, on the road behind the second 7 leven, there is a river with waterfalls (input 200 baths from a person). Prices are slightly lower than the tour operators. There are no noisy disco bars in this part of Kao Laka. It is a quiet beach holiday. It is also good for beach runners.
Hotel Gahn Khao Lak

Review of Hotel Stay at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak and overall, it was a delightful experience. Here are the pros and cons of my stay: Pros: 1) Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is located in a prime spot, just a short distance away from the main tourist area. This allows for a peaceful and tranquil stay while still being conveniently close to all the attractions. 2) The hotel itself is a beautiful boutique establishment, with a charming ambiance. From the moment you step into the entrance lobby, you are greeted with antique decorations that add a touch of elegance to the surroundings. 3) One of the highlights of this hotel is the Michelin 2022 and 2023 chef who prepares authentic Nonya cuisines. This is a culinary experience not to be missed, and the restaurant is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied. 4) The hotel is surrounded by many amenities and local food options within walking distance. This makes it convenient for guests to explore and indulge in the local flavors. 5) The breakfast at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is simple yet delicious. It offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, and it's a great way to start your day on a positive note. 6) On a hot day, the hotel's refreshing little pool is a fantastic spot to take a dip and cool off. It provides a relaxing oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings. 7) The owner and staff of the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay and are always ready to assist with any queries or requests. Cons: 1) One issue I encountered during my stay was the presence of lizards and flying pests, especially in rooms with balconies. While this may be a common occurrence in tropical settings, it can be unsettling for some guests. 2) The housekeeping service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of towel change and cleaning of used cups. It would be beneficial if these aspects were given more attention to enhance the overall cleanliness of the rooms. Rating: 8.5/10 In conclusion, Hotel Gahn Khao Lak offers a memorable stay with its good location, beautiful ambiance, authentic cuisine, and friendly staff. While there are a few areas that could be improved upon, the overall experience is highly enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and charming getaway in Khao Lak.
