My wife and I had been eager to visit this resort. Arrival and the first evening was great. The bar by the pool was excellent and the bartenders were excellent. We had dinner at Fish Tales that evening and that too was great. Day 2 was a pool day. We decided to get a cabana at the Spa pool. It was a very nice pool and the service was very good. That evening we had cocktails at the Hemmingway bar…. Service and the cocktails were excellent!!! We paid the charge and had dinner at Bogey and Bacall’s. I would highly recommend this. Food was great, ambience was ideal, and the service was awesome. Overall a great day. Day 3 is where things turned sour for us. The forecast called for rain so we had scheduled a spa day for my wife. We started at the gym and I would say 1/2 of the treadmills and elliptical were not operating. We returned to the room and the rain really picked up. I called and reserved a ride for my wife to the spa, because when I walked to get lunch I go soaked and non of the staff in golf carts wanted to help me. One even splashed me when passing me on the road. I told this to the front desk in a text and they were dismissive. When the pick up time came….. they no-showed. I called the front desk and was told they were busy with check ins. Not my problem, but they were very dismissive…again! My wife ended up walking to the spa in pouring rain and mud. I must say the spa staff and the spa itself was very nice. I walked over to the spa to make sure my wife got back okay and told the ladies there at the desk about my experience. One of them called the GM on duty and talked to her. However, the GM did not want to speak with me or even offer any apology. At this point the rain had picked up significantly. To the point that large palm branches were falling. Our dinner was scheduled for Sea Senor which was outside. I had to call to find out that was being moved to a different location. However, after my other experience with transport, I just walked in the storm to get some food from the bar because room service was not included. Still… not a single attempt to say sorry for my wife’s situation. That evening the power went out.! The rain and wind was near hurricane strength and we had to check out at 5am. What hotel property doesn’t have a back up generator. Luckily I had a flashlight and caught an employee that was driving around and secured a ride to the front desk for check out. I think the property and the food service employees and spa employees are great. The bungalows are very cute. But some of the service issues I mentioned and the lack of empathy was a real turn off. Will we return? Not sure at this point. And yet I got an e-mail this AM wanting me to rebook.

What a beautifully design place. Everything feels right. The colors, layout, dim lights, great silence, meditation music in a zen pool, incredible massages at the spa. What can go wrong. Omg the food! Its horrendous. The poor staff showed signs of poor training as well , to the point of not knowing how to pronounce dishes or what they were. Our dinner at Fish tales was a true disappointment. Not only they serve low food quality but it was also horribly prepared. My scallops were so over cooked that I was unable to eat them. Soups had no flavor nothing served to us was eatable so we left hungry. Breakfast was no better. Scrambled eggs poorly cooked. Mushy and soggy. Totally non eatable breakfast left again hungry. Luckily we found food by the pool side eatable so we survived on tacos. I would never consider coming back basically because their food is horrendous. So inevitably we felt at points being more in a tourist trap that in a relaxing high end hotel.

From the moment you enter the gates you can just tell that this resort is “ well done.” You drive in off of the main road, but immediately get the feeling that you are on a secluded island. The bungalows themselves are clean and adorable and the ocean view rooms are just a few steps away from the beautiful ocean front . I wasn’t planning on going to the spa, but made a last minute appointment. Jose took such great care of me that I decided to return the following day! He cured my headaches and had me feeling like a new person, which made my trip that much more enjoyable! The food was delicious and the wait staff attentive. Bogie and Bacall’s was my favorite and definitely worth the extra money. If you only have a 3 night stay, it is not included, but, be sure to add it to your reservations! It is worth every penny. Even the tiki bar has good food and the live music was an added bonus. If quiet is what you are looking for, check out the zen pool. It is a beautiful oasis hidden amongst the bamboo. Grab a cabana and enjoy peace and quiet. All in this adult all inclusive did not disappoint. I highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

We had a lovely weekend visit. The rooms are cozy with outside tub and shower as an extra benefit, the meals are good the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing and the view is beautiful. The staff very helpful and do try the Serenity Pool (get there early to make sure you have a spot...calm, pretty quiet and perfect as a stress free spot. They could do better in terms of a walking trail, finding a good place for a long run or walk is difficult.

Overall, I enjoyed my time at the Bungalows. Went for a friends 50th birthday weekend. Was there from a Thursday until Sunday. Pros: They really stick to the Tiffany Blue theme and the grounds are so pretty. Once you enter the gates it’s so pretty, like going through the gates to enter Jurassic park lol it’s a entirely different world. Enjoyed the pools and the service at the pools. Liked the layout of the bungalow! Enjoyed the sail on Saturday and going to the sandbar. Enjoyed the Hemingway Bar and Benz the bartender was amazing. I felt that the Hemingway Bar had the best food there and truly enjoyed the drinks and the mixology class we took with Benz. He was awesome! Cons: Woke up early Sunday morning to a burning smell in my room. The clock radio they supply in the rooms overheated, started smoking and burned/melted my headphone cord into the headphones, ruining my $300 headphones and scaring the life out of me, as that could have caught fire. Upon checkout I informed the front desk and asked to speak to a manager, but she was too busy to come and speak to me. I was told she would contact me and has never reached out. That’s not great customer service for the price you pay and I paid more as I was single occupancy, and had to pay for double occupancy as they don’t offer a single occupancy rate. Most concerning is since management was too busy to care, that overheating clock radio unit may still be in 132 and continue to be a fire hazard. I would think for what you pay, management would want to address a concern of this nature. It woke me from my sleep and could have been worse. The waitstaff circled the tables and made the dining experience feel rushed, like they were trying to hurry you along and we were there during the slow season. Some weren’t very friendly either. Gratuities aren’t included so we tipped each meal but again every meal felt rushed and they were taking our plates before we even finished. Didn’t like that at all. I wouldn’t return, but enjoyed the time there overall despite my last morning there.

I never write reviews, but I was so blown away by our stay at Bungalows that I felt it necessary. An unreal experience. Bungalows is a dream location. Absolutely stunning views, amazing team, and incredible food. 🏝️☀️ I cannot recommend enough! We are already planning our next trip!

Be careful- they will charge you $250 if you need to cancel your plans even a year out!! Will never book here again for that reason. Absolutely absurd cancellation policy! It is also not clearly written when you choose the rate. Super disappointed with the lack of customer service or response to emails.

Worst all inclusive I have ever been to, and we travel A LOT. The service has not been great. The upkeep and the appearance is nice. The food is terrible. The room service is not included, there a $20 up charge plus the COST OF THE FOOD🤯. There are only two restaurants and if you do want to eat at one with decent food you have to pay and additional $300 unless your stay four nights, you one get ONE visit for free. Which apparently is a trend because it’s also $300 for early check in.. regardless if you’re one hour or four hours early. If you want top shelf drinks it’s an additional cost. The one drink I did order here was not proportionate, it was not satisfying at all. As a past bartend, I feel like the bartender didn’t know how to make the drink correctly (I ordered a margarita).. with that. We got here on Wednesday and there have been TWO bartenders every day, this was Friday after noon with only one bartender.. I felt terrible for how overwhelmed I felt he was, even though he held his composure very well. The water is covered in sea moss, I’ve seen one very intoxicated group of people utilize the floating lounges. Aside from that the pool set up is nice but the music they’ve had for the past three days has not set the vacation resort vibe. They are UNDER staffed. I had to wait 20 minutes for valley to bring me my car.. which they never did I eventually had to ask if I could have my keys to go get it myself so I don’t miss out on the ONE activity they offered that you didn’t have to pay and additional fee for.. which was yoga, that I did in fact end up missing. This should NOT be advertised as an all inclusive resort. I feel if we were under the impression this was just a resort rather than an all inclusive we wouldn’t be so disappointed. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. If you’re looking for all inclusive and bang for your buck this is not the place. Don’t be fooled by the gorgeous appearance, behind it is a truly underwhelming experience.

The pictures don’t do the location justice! Sunset watching every night. Plenty of places to sit and lounge while eating a snack and drinking a cocktail. Even the food at this resort has been above average for all inclusive. While the service is not quite as fast and in as much quantity as some of the all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico, they make up for it by the beautiful grounds and quality bungalows. The outside tubs and showers are so private and nice.
