Sequoia Lodge

Given the amount of empty units in town in January was surprised at the terrible prices for rooms but seems they would rather be empty than make a buck. Booking online garnered a better price but at the motel they insisted the room I wanted (lots of windows) qualified for more despite there being nothing on line about this. Thought that was petty given the place was pretty much empty. Anyways the room is charmingly decorated/presented and we had a nice view of the river. Wanted something with rustic charm which this place had with its themed decor. It was clean and cozy and you got the usual coffee and tea and bonus of tastey popcorn. The room had an extra fireplace heater which we needed but do think for January the thin blanket bed cover needs to be upgraded. All the other amenities needed were available. There was a nice wood fireput available outside with wood to use but given it was raining we couldn’t partake. Despite supposedly having wifi couldn’t get it to work on my Apple Macbook Air. We did enjoy the one night stay but can’t imagine the summer prices.

The property was clean and quiet. What was weird is the check in. I got to the hotel at 5:30pm. The office was closed. The note on the dorr said to go to the Kernville Hotel to get your key. The Kernville Hotel is about 2.5 miles down a windy road. I have never had to drive 5 miles to check in. It was weird.

The scenery was amazing and the amenities were good. Would absolutely stay here again.

It was beautiful. Comfortable cozy rooms. The property had a beautiful view of the Kern River. We will DEFINITELY be going back.

This lodge is amazing. Me and my wife felt very welcome and safe. The river is right there so you can walks towards it and take amazing pictures. Host is very kind and awesome recommendations for dinner/breakfast

Great little cottage-style room just outside of Kernville. Very clean and comfortable. Surprisingly good TV reception with lots of channels. We even got to watch the Monday night football game! Mostly quiet during the night but occasional road traffic started pretty early. All in all, a good place.

Check in was easy. Jim, our host, was the best! Place was clean, close to everything, including the river. If you can't relax, have fun, and disconnect here, you should consult your doctor. You might be a stick in the mud! Your cell phone will become your clock and your camera. They don't work up here. Maybe your kids can play outside for a change. Bring a book and put your feet up. Maybe some BBQables for the grill. You can plan some activities if you like but food and a nap ain't bad at all! Thanks Jim for a great stay. I'll be back soon.

This place was amazing from start to finish!!! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Jim (DO NOT CALL HIM SIR!!!!) He was the sincerest man with the biggest heart!!! I let him know that our room was the cleanest smelling room I'd ever been in. He let me know that it was because of his amazing staff that had been with him for years! I appreciated the fact that he didn't shy away from giving credit to his cleaning ladies! That's really hard to doing these days! We'll definitely be returning ASAP!! THANKS FOR A GREAT STAY JIM!!!

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway to Kernville! There’s easy access to the river behind the lodge and a great general store across the street with breakfast burritos and barbecue. The rooms were cute and rustic. Easy to get to all of the attractions of the area.
