Mealea Resort

The boss is a beautiful lady in Phnom Penh, a total of 11 rooms, we live in room 12, in the innermost, should be the best private one. The room is quite big, with a small garden with a small pool, very quiet. Next door is another hotel. The room is hygienic and the equipment is general. The practical facilities are not convenient. For example, the bathroom has no shelves for the supplies, and there is no hook. The kettle is placed at the position where there is no plug. The room lighting is too dark. It is a light bulb, a total of 11 bulbs. Includes bathroom toilet and washbasin. However, the boss is very enthusiastic and almost responsive, providing us with a bright table lamp. All rooms are in the garden and the hotel has a well-kept garden. The pool is small and refined. Breakfast has egg bacon bread fruit and drink, one per person is made, others need to pay extra, and there is no other than pancake. Because of vegetarianism, I only ate bread and fruit in the morning. Later, I talked to the boss. She immediately said that she could arrange it. Although it is no longer needed, the service attitude is very good. If you have any questions, remember to go directly to the boss and it will be more effective. The Crab market is just opposite and it is convenient to eat.
Vakara Hotel Kep

The hotel picked us up, free of charge from the bus station. All staff were polite and well trained in hospitality. The hotel is new and spotlessly clean. The Seaview room was large, had a good amount of storage but it was soulless. There are no restaurants or services near the hotel. The nearest mini- mart is1km away down mostly unsealed and unlit roads. Had the hotel been located in a more desirable location we would have rated 4 stars. It was approximately 2kms inland.
Tara Lodge Haven of Peace

This place is divine. Very small (I think only 8 rooms) and no it’s not on the waterside (but that’s a good thing). This place is about a 15 min walk to the crab market, 10 min to the national park, 10 min walk to sailing club … note there is no “town” as such so don’t look for being “in town”. For westerners there is no 711 or shopping street. It’s just one big food stalls and hammocks. But Tara lodge is unique. Beautiful pool, huge rooms, amazing restaurant and the staff (Jim especially) cannot do enough for you. We were here for 2 nights and we were the only guests (Cambodian election). We are in our 60’s from Australia and we walked 8km or more around Kep national park. There is a “convenience” store at end of the street which sells everything but the wine and beer at the hotel was great. Food was divine. The chocolate fondue… don’t share! 😀

I went to the White Horse several times and finally lived in this house. I really didn't feel disappointed. Go out to see the sea, the room can also see the sea, go out and turn right next to the canteen for 2 minutes, and the cake shop can have breakfast.
