The room is very spacious and comes with both an indoor and outdoor onsen. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are very clean, and you can use the hot springs unlimited times. The downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the station, making it difficult to find restaurants nearby at night. Plus, you have to pass a cemetery on the way back to the hotel, which is a bit spooky.

Facilities: There were only two air coolers and two electric fans. If you're sensitive to heat, it might feel a bit warm in the summer. My friend found it just right, but I thought it was a little warm before falling asleep at night. However, it's designed to be a traditional Japanese folk house, so there are fewer appliances. There's a hairdryer, Wi-Fi, and a TV, but no washing machine or refrigerator. They provided a bucket of ice water in the room, which was a nice touch. Cleanliness: Super, super, super clean. The tatami mats were even covered with disposable sheets. Although there's a lot of vegetation outside, there were no mosquitoes inside. They had mugwort incense and electric mosquito repellents, but no strange smells in the room. Environment: The biggest and most anticipated highlight was the hot spring. There are indeed outdoor and indoor private hot springs, but I absolutely dared not go out at night. Because it was dark outside and bright inside, it attracted many moths. On the first night, moths kept banging against the window, so the door to the outdoor private hot spring remained closed. The bathroom private hot spring also had flowing water, but there were small flying insects when showering at night. Plus, there was no elevated spot to hang the showerhead. Service: The housekeeper grandma provided excellent service. She showed us around and introduced the entire room. There's also a free breakfast service, and they'll ask if you need it upon check-in. Finally, they charged a tax upon check-out.

Considering the price, especially compared to other private onsen (hot spring) options in Izu, getting two private baths – one indoor and one outdoor – is incredible! Plus, there's a little courtyard with koi fish and a free breakfast! You can even send postcards home for free! The lobby has seeds from the seasonal plants in their garden, some small crafts for sale, and a little bookshelf. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, there's a small stream lined with maple trees, which I imagine would be beautiful in autumn. It feels very lived-in, like staying in an old house from a classic Japanese drama. The building is old, but everything is spotlessly clean and tidy. The lobby doesn't have air conditioning, so it was quite hot from the entrance all the way to the room, and there were huge mosquitoes. AC is only in the rooms, and they provided an extra fan, which kept things pretty cool. If you open other doors in the room, it can cool down the adjacent room a bit (but not much). Most of the time, you can sit in front of the garden, zone out, and feed the fish. It's a bit of a walk to the station and convenience store, but over my two days there, I found the scenery along the way quite nice. Rural Japan isn't as convenient as commercial centers, offering a quiet, peaceful kind of inconvenience (said playfully, of course). Oh, and there was a large spider in the room. I tried to shoo it out but couldn't, so I called a staff member who kindly removed it for me. Also, remember to turn off the lights if you're not using the bathroom or the outdoor private bath, as outdoor lights attract a lot of bugs. Overall, it was great, and I'd definitely come back.

Even though it was a Japanese-style tatami room, there was no odor whatsoever. It was very clean.

Wonderful

My English was mediocre, and I barely spoke any Japanese, but checking in wasn't a problem at all! Let me share my experience at this hotel. I was initially worried because I took the subway from Senso-ji to Shinagawa, then the JR train to Kawazu, and it was a 10-minute walk to the hotel. I had originally planned a two-day tour with a chartered car, but the driver had something to do and came to take me the next day. There was no Chinese-speaking staff at the hotel, but don't worry, just show him your passport. I stayed here for three days and two nights, and it felt like the word "slow" was etched into my daily life. Opening the door reveals a tatami room, and pulling open the shoji doors reveals a small pond with koi fish floating on the wooden walkway—schools of orange-red and gold-striped fish swaying slowly, the ripples on the water you could almost touch, and even the wind carried the dampness of the vegetation. The private hot spring bath is absolutely delightful: the wooden-enclosed bathtub is next to a small window, and while soaking, you can glimpse the swaying leaves in the courtyard. The stone floor has a cool, pleasant touch. After your bath, wrap yourself in a yukata and sit by the boardwalk feeding the fish—even daydreaming becomes a meaningful activity. Breakfast is free, but you need to tell the front desk the day before you need it! There's a highly recommended eel restaurant nearby, a 5-minute walk away (you'll need Google Maps to navigate there!).

The best hotel we've stayed at in Japan. A separate traditional Japanese-style house with sliding partitions opening onto the garden. A private bath (surrounded by palms and citrus trees) with running water from a natural hot spring is absolutely gorgeous. A delicious traditional breakfast (included in the price). Excellent service. The grounds are beautiful, with streams, ponds, and fish. A wonderful place for both mental and physical relaxation. The location is excellent, as is the town itself, nestled at the mouth of the mountains with a wide river flowing into the ocean, all within walking distance. We'd love to come back again this winter.

I was having trouble finding a place to stay, but when I found out that this place had a pool and an open-air bath in each room, I immediately booked. It truly felt like a secluded retreat, and the staff were so attentive and wonderful! We booked two rooms for our family of seven, and each room had its own charm. We had the carp room, which even had food, and the kids loved it! The other room was very spacious and even had its own garden! We checked in at 3 PM and enjoyed the pool right away. We were able to use it until 5 PM, but there were no other guests there, so we had it all to ourselves. The temperature of the open-air bath in our room was just right, and it was wonderful. We went in multiple times and had such a happy day. It was also a trip to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, so it was a truly wonderful experience. It was a wonderful place that made me want to have a family again. Thank you so much.

The room is spacious, with an independent courtyard, and private outdoor and indoor ♨️. Outdoor ♨️, you can see a cherry tree standing next to it when you look up, and you can watch the stars while taking a bath ♨️ at night.

After a 6-hour train ride from Tokyo Narita, I checked in at nearly 9pm, which was a pity. The hotel feels a bit old, but the room is quite clean. There is a small wooden hot spring pool indoors, and the outdoor private hot spring has a beautiful environment and feels great. The downside is that I have to check out at 10pm, so I will check in earlier next time.

Located near the Kawazu River, the environment is quiet and peaceful, the room is large, there are private indoor and outdoor baths in the room, and there is a carp pond where you can feed the carp for free! The hotel offers free bicycle rentals to cruise along the Kawazu River and enjoy the Kawazu cherry blossoms!
