I didn't chose the hotel but I loved it. Location was great, very convenient for the station, room was fine, front desk staff were kind and thoughtful. Enjoyed a better than average breakfast, included in the room rate. The whole experience was much more ”boutique” than ”chain” hotel. But the real glory of the place is the privileged access to the former daimyo's garden next door. Each morning at breakfast, the waitstaff encouraged me to step outside into the garden. On the third morning, I finally did it. What a lovely place! Japanese aesthetics at their best. And I had it all to myself. Would have been worth staying here just for the garden, but like I said, the hotel was good, too.

The location is really good. And it's great to have your own private room at this price. The space in the room for suitcases is vague. All basic facilities are neatly equipped. The shower room was spacious and comfortable, and I used the washer and dryer well. Highly recommended :)

I stayed at the Dormy Inn for 3 nights during the rugby World Cup. First let me state that there is very little to do in Kakegawa apart from visiting the castle, so if you are heading here as a tourist there are probably better places to stay. Back to the hotel ! I arrived a little early (around 12) and my room was not available , so I had to leave my bags in reception and wait until around 3pm to get my key. There was no issue with the language barrier. The hotel is not far from the station with a 10 minute walk along the main road getting you there. The room itself was average size for Japan, but the outlook from the window was pretty bleak onto a back alley. However, it was clean and comfortable there were no issues with the exception of the pillows which were rock hard. All amenities were available in the room although the sink being in the bedroom rather than the shower area was a little strange. The Wi-fi was perfect, but dont look for any English language station on the TV as there was none. In terms of restaurant, there is one for breakfast with a reasonable selection of both Western and Japanese food. I never saw it open during the day or evening. However, as a bonus it does open up around 9.30 in the evening with free ramen noodles for the hungry. Coffee is always available on demand in the foyer which is another good point. On top of the hotel is a typical Japanese thermal bath...great for the aches after a busy day ! All in all a good hotel for the price.....

I only had a place to stay at a reasonable price on a sudden business trip, and I saw the word of mouth that it smelled on the hotel reservation site, but I booked it as better than overseas hotels. It was a room of about 2DK when I was told at check-in that there was only a large room. It was old and dusty, and the toilet cleaning was appropriate and above all, the smell of sewage was full, and I was worried about whether I could spend a day. Even if I turned all the ventilation fans in the bathroom, toilet and kitchen, I couldn't get this smell and closed the partition of the bedroom which was still better and stayed at night. It is a very unpleasant stay and a business trip that requires a sudden stay, and if there is only an inn here, I think it would be better to go to a different station and stay. One good thing is that there is a tuna specialty store called Shimizu Port Minami, which is popular for tourists, next door. I will never stay again as I say many times. I stayed at such a smelly hotel for the first time.

Great hotel, stayed for the second time. Breakfast is delicious, there are many choices, basically all Japanese people stay, breakfast for partial meals. The room is clean, there are a lot of comic books on the first floor, and there are 8 kinds of pillows to choose from. There are two shuttle buses, one big and one small, and there is a shuttle bus to and from the station. At 10 o'clock in the evening,

Very ordinary business hotel. Many railway business hotels are good hotels, but this is also bad, so it would be even better if there was a free coffee service. There was a pot of kettle, but there was only tea. I wish I had coffee, but I wonder if it's tea because it's Shizuoka. The bed was large and the room was reasonably large, so it was comfortable. Although there was no special good part, it was close to Shizuoka station and was a hotel without a reduction point.
